Bump! The Ultimate Gay Travel Companion: Great Britain
Our visit to Brighton starts with a tour on the boardwalk at the colorful Brighton Pier. Next, we head over to a local gay café, do some shopping and take in an exhibit on gay and lesbian history and culture at a museum. Afterward, we get to traipse through a real queen's opulent summer palace. From there, it's onto some of Brighton's trendy eateries. We end off our tour carousing at several gay hotspots.
Manchester teems with gay life. We'll show you gay guesthouses, restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs and more! Our trip begins with a stroll down festive Canal Street, the heart of the gay village. Next, we check out the annual Gayfest party and the Mr. Gay U.K. pageant. We also learn how Manchester rebuilt itself after WWII and became the birthplace of the modern women s suffrage movement.
London is one of the world s great cosmopolitan cities, and it crackles with a vibrant queer scene. Shannon begins by checking out the major landmarks Buckingham Palace, Covent Gardens and Piccadilly Circus, to name a few. Then she heads over to Compton Street and Leicester Square on a tour of gay SoHo. Afterward, Graham Norton, Britain's most popular (and gay) talk show host, shares his favorite gay spots. Next, we learn about Oscar Wilde and drop in at the local gay gym. We also show our favorite places for the gay traveler to stay, look at London's gay Mardi Gras and go bargain hunting.
About the Actor
McDonough...is alternately tough, sympathetic, spirited and demanding. She's also good near the play's end, at showing us the distrustful Bo's own pain and numbed anger. (Now Magazine) She's done countless radio & television commercials from Lava Cakes; to Meow Mix; and it's her sultry voice now announcing the latest erotic films on Bell Expressvu's Venus Channel. Shannon's film credits include Mat Leave and Detour and she's a familiar face to the LGBT people across Canada as one of OUTtv's popular Gay Jays, hosting events and touring with Bump! Host Shannon McDonough is a real find, one of those rare people who actually looks happy on camera. (Capital Xtra)
