In this debut novella from C.D. Kester, we're taken into Fern Hollow, a nightmare town for the young woman kidnapped and held captive in their respective bunkers. Madison, a young teenage girl, and her sister's are ruled by a "Mother" who instills in them religious beliefs which run their lives. Circumstances change and Madison along with several other characters are thrown into a world of chaos, gun fights, and religious zealots.
From the first page, the story takes hold, and doesn't slow down.

There's something deeper, darker, at play.But that's not all, were introduced to Jacob Ash, a second pov that is intertwined with Madison. He also has fallen victim to the plague of Fern Hollow.When our two Mcs join forces the pacing picks up, you're in for a ride. Blood. There's so much of it, it's polling around you.I enjoyed this, one thing that bothered me, was the introduction to Jacob, seemed a little abrupt, otherwise, this is a well-formed read. I look forward to Kester's future releases. Give it a go!
