4.0 out of 5 stars Dread-filled bloodshed!
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 1, 2020
Bunkers litter the landscape of Fern Hollow, a small twisted, tight-knit community. Steeped in darkness and drowning in zealotry. This is a dread-filled, blood-soaked ride, and soon the stand against religious indoctrination will be made.

This novella is the debut of C.D Kester, originally a series of short stories has been blended to provide a truly entertaining read.

It's quick, the action begins in the first chapter, and from there it's wide open. I only put this down one time, to grab a drink.

At a little over 100 pages, it's clear that Kester has done his work. He stands firmly against the themes that he's written.

For our MC Madison, life is far stranger than she could have imagined, along with six sisters, and her ”mother”, they'll soon find out nothing is as it seems. There's something deeper, darker, at play.

But that's not all, were introduced to Jacob Ash, a second pov that is intertwined with Madison. He also has fallen victim to the plague of Fern Hollow.

When our two Mcs join forces the pacing picks up, you're in for a ride. Blood. There's so much of it, it's polling around you.

I enjoyed this, one thing that bothered me, was the introduction to Jacob, seemed a little abrupt, otherwise, this is a well-formed read. I look forward to Kester's future releases. Give it a go!
