About the Author
James Howe is the author of more than ninety books for young readers, including the modern classic Bunnicula and its highly popular sequels. In 2001, Howe published The Misfits, the story of four outcast seventh-graders who try to end name-calling in their school. The Misfits is now widely read and studied in middle schools throughout the country, and was the inspiration for the national movement known as No Name-Calling Week (NoNameCallingWeek.org), an event observed by thousands of middle and elementary schools annually. There are three companion novels to The Misfits: Totally Joe (2005), Addie on the Inside (2011), and Also Known as Elvis (2014). Howe’s many other books for children from preschool through teens frequently deal with the acceptance of difference and being true to oneself. Visit him online at JamesHowe.com.

My six year old loved this story. If I had to take my best guess, I'd say this is best from the 5-8 age range. I read it out loud to my son (there are illustrations, too...pen and ink drawings), but if he were a year or two older, it would be perfect for him to read himself.
I first purchased this years ago at an elementary school book fair, and have purchased many more copies throughout the years to give as gifts to children to promote an interest in reading (and for quite a few adults who just like a good book).
You can't go wrong with a tale about a strange bunny, a paranoid cat, and a hungry dog!
About a week ago I went to get a midnight snack, my husband also encouraging me to eat healthy, so I grabbed an orange. As I peeled back the skin, to my surprise the fruit was dry and White! I was instantly brought back to one of my loveable books!
I told my husband about what happen and how it had to be Bunnicula! He looked at me like I was crazy, so I explained to him about the book. Well he still thought it was crazy so I found the story an read a chapter every other night to him and our little one. We all laughed at Chester and compared him to our little kitty Stewart.
Great read for family's and anyone who enjoys a funny mystery!
