BURN (Book 3 Celestra Series) by Addison Moore

BURN is the 3rd story in Addison Moore's Young Adult Celestra series. Focusing on the life of 16 year old Skyla Messenger and her friends & family of Angels and Demons, Addison continues her series, delving deeper into the darkside of a YA paranormal adventure. Once again the cast of characters range from the angelic Celestra, the evil demon Fems, the Countenance (enemy) and Marshall Dudley-the all encompassing Sector.

BURN is a much darker novel than the previous 2 books, so much so that I was hoping it was all a dream-that the `heroine' Skyla, would wake up and everything would be back to normal. But this particular storyline revolves around revenge and hatred. Skyla is seeking those who murdered her father 2 years prior, and like the previous 2 instalments, she is still refusing to listen to reason and continues her Light travel through time. Her headstrong and take no prisoners attitude, escalates into a killing spree around the world, where she is aided by Gage, with his need to protect her at all costs.

There are several murders and attempted murders throughout the storyline. Skyla is sexually attacked and in self-defense, murders the young man thinking he was one of the Countenance. But when it is revealed that he truly was an enemy of the Celestra, it is only the beginning of Skyla's murderous rampage on those hoping to claim her blood. A near fatal throat slashing, a car accident where a ghostly apparition gains control of the vehicle, and several attacks by the demon Fems, would be enough to send any normal teenager into a headlong case of psychosis. But Skyla Messenger takes it all in stride, knowing that one day-she will make a difference (right or wrong) in everybody's life.

I just started this series this week!! and now am done with all three books! I could not put them down! I love the action in this book for Skyla.. and the heartach also! The only thing is sometimes I feel like it was almost to much going on for her to take and that i wish something good would happen.. but without giving to much away.. i agree with everyone one else about the CRAZY ending! I am already waiting for the next book! Great job Addison.. as a true "TWIHARD" this was a great series! Keep up the great work!

I am over 40 and have enjoyed this series. Book 3 left me on the edge of my seat and I can not wait for Book 4 to come out. I blow through so many kindle books and this series is one of the better that I have read in a while. The author is an excellent writer and I highly recommend.

If this was how teenage girls and boys really made decisions and life altering choices; we as a species would be extinct in a generation.
The main character of the story is such shallow, brainless, flighty idiot that I can not begin to do justice in verbal assault. Skyla cheapens her love to the point of ridiculousness. She makes out with no less than four males, all of which "means something" so profound.....what.ever.

I don't know if I dislike the author of this series more, or the publisher for putting this garbage out for public consumption.

It was jumpy, ill written, and didn't make sense most of the time. Spelling errors galore.

The sad thing is, the IDEA of the book could be awesome if wrote later in this writers career(?) or someone else entirely. There are some really great IDEAS that are SERIOUSLY not developed.
Glad these books are short and free.

I would definitely recommend reading The Celestra Series; but you need to read them in order. This series is complete with 8 books. Ethereal (Book 1), Tremble (Book 2), Burn (Book 3), Wicked (Book 4), Vex (Book 5), Expel (Book 6), Toxic: Part 1 (Book 7-1), Toxic: Part 2 (Book 7-2), Elysian (Book 8). There are 2 follow-up books called Celestra Extras and The Countenance Trilogy. The Celestra Series by Addison Moore is Young Adult Paranormal Romance with fantasy elements and is appropriate for older teenagers and all adults. I’m a mature adult and I LOVED the first and second books (I got them free as a set when they were on promotion). I immediately purchased the rest of the series and couldn’t wait to read them. I would give Ethereal (book 1) and Tremble (book 2) a strong 4 stars. The 3rd book, Burn, was more of a 3 star; I was starting to get a little bored. But I was into the story line and continued on with the series. I’m currently reading book 7 part 1, and will finish the series; overall I’ve enjoyed it. The story line pulled me in and has kept me engaged and entertained. Parts seem slow at times, but then it moves on and I want to read more. (I don’t give play by play of plots and story lines – you can read descriptions elsewhere.)

I keep telling myself I'm just going to buy ONE more in this series, and yet I continue on. It has grabbed my attention and I must continue to see how this plays out. The whole idea is so intriguing and unique that I will surely feel some disappointment when I've powered through every book; simply because I don't want it to be over. I loved how this one ended and orb course I'm getting the next because this opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the characters. I love the strength and power that the main character has, and she is a good model for girls to know; independent, tough, virtuous, smart. I enjoy these even though I'm not exactly a YA anymore, but it's nice to read a book meant for young girls where the main character cares so much for everyone and isn't involved in doing what's popular or risque. Also, the writing is very natural and easy to follow, with minimal typos and that makes it a good series to read when you can only squeeze in a little bit of reading time, at a time.
