Hunter and Alicia were in love and content. Their lives were moving forward with their careers and their newlywed status happily moving along as planned. Until, as everything does sooner or later, things change… Hunter is at a crossroads in his professional life and facing tough decisions with his family. Where things were good, now things were unsettled and up in the air. Hard decisions had to be made. I loved, loved, loved how Alicia was there to support him through every up and down and crisis he faced. That they both faced.
It was sad, it was moving and it was romance meets real life with all the feels and the love I`d hoped for.
**Reviewed for Nerdy Dirty & Flirty**
When I read the blurb, I expected a ménage, but I’ll make it clear right away - it’s a not a ménage. That is not to say there aren’t any hot sex scenes. Hunter and Alicia burn up the pages with some hot sex.
Though short, the story is able to take Hunter through a transition where the reader experiences the unrest within himself as he struggles with the decision of where his next step should take him. The relationship between Hunter and Alicia is also strong and sweet. Alicia is very supportive of her husband – definitely his number one fan.
I also liked the New Zealand setting as it was different. The dialogue fit the setting, IMO.
There’s no real romantic conflict as the story isn’t about Hunter and Alicia trying to overcome any obstacles to be together. Neither is there any apparent attraction between Hunter and bandmate, Tia.
Although, Burn For You can be read as a stand-alone, it is more of a feel-good sequel for readers who have read By My Side, the story of how Hunter and Alicia met.
My biggest beef with the story was poor editing. There were way too many typos, which got distracting.
*a free copy of the book was given to me for an honest review*
I was very excited about the opportunity that presented itself to Hunter, but I also understood his reservations. I was eager to see how everything was going to play out with these new developments.
As Tia Sympathy began to make their way through the music industry in the hopes of making it big, I could see trouble was brewing for the band. I was on edge waiting to see how things would turn out for them.
The ending of this novella was bittersweet and made me eager to read more about Hunter and Alicia in the future. They are terrific characters with great chemistry. Troutman did another phenomenal job with this story.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.
