She has many adventures and trials to overcome before she is reunited with her sister, and finds love and happiness in a world far removed from the one she grew up in. Lacy and Sean are delightful characters, and the supporting characters are also very real and easy to identify with. The descriptions of the territory and the way of life in that time period are beautifully and realistically drawn. This is the second book of the 'Time Can Heal Your Heart' series. You don't have to have read the first book 'Tripping Though time' (Keeley's story) to enjoy 'Burned Into Time' but once you've read it, I bet you'll want to read the first book as well.
follow-up novel to "Tripping Through Time" sets you a couple of centuries back on the
shores of Lake Champlain (did I spell that right?), in the bucolic countryside outside
Burlington, Vt. It has a modern young girl who was unahappy in her present-American life,
and uses a ring with magical powers to send herself back to search for her sister. There is
a charming Scotsman, complete with Brrrr's, and of course, as they get to know each other
and try to understand each other's worlds, romance follows. A time-travel addict myself,
I enjoyed the premise of this story, as well as Mary's ability to turn a unique phrase. I
look forward to inevitable third book to complete the tale, and tie up all the loose ends
The events leading up to the accident, and the accident itself are vividly described and the rest of the story, with lots of action, and characters the reader comes to know and love, is a very satisfying and enjoyable story. The second book of the series 'Time Can Heal Your Heart', you don't have to read the first book in order to enjoy it, but after reading Burned Into time you will probably want to read 'Tripping Through Time.' as well.
