Each chapter is written with a similar structure. First is the practitioner's perspective, then the evidence, then the inside story and finally the call to action. This structure allows the reader to see the issue from multiple vantage points. What I love best is the call to action parts. There is also a Called to Action summary "checklist" at the end of the book.
This summary checklist is a great resource! I hope teacher groups read this book together and make a plan using the called to action checklist to advocate for our profession. I am challenging teachers, administrators and all of those interested in public education to do just that! Read this book and come up with a plan to advocate for pubic education. Using the summary checklist you can spread out the tasks and start to take the public education narrative back! This is certainly a call to action!
