I am sad that the author did not warn the reader because overall I enjoyed the book but now doubt if I will one click the subsequent two books to finally get the whole story.
Update: The author has now updated the book descriptions to include the cliffhanger warning. This was a good story and I will most likely read books 2,3 and 4 upon the release of book 4.
OK….I’m completely on-board for this whole “MC” genre and naturally I am on the look-out for those types of books. I expect to only like some of them since a lot of them are too over-the-top and gritty for my taste but there are a few gems in the stack. I would say Burning Desire is a gem….a little flawed, but overall a good read. Chase is our hero and he is a fairly decent man, if a little bit of a man-whore. He stays away from our heroine out of respect for her best friend, Jeremy, and respect for his club. But, once he realizes the depth of his attraction for Roxanne, he puts his feelings into action and the fireworks begin. Roxanne is our resident biker princess. She has always had feelings for Chase but because of their club rivalries and his friendship with her brother, she has stayed firmly out of his way, until they are both forced to acknowledge how they feel about each other. Roxanne is fun and engaging, if a little bit of a tease and her behavior can even be labeled as “bratty”, but overall I liked her and felt pity for her and her predicament. This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading future books by this author.
What Didn’t Work For Me:
Seriously!!! There are TWO men attempting to get her pregnant?!?!?! OK, she should’ve severed her relationship with Jake completely before she even though of climbing into bed with Chase. That whole situation squicked me out to no end! I don’t care how much she cared for Chase for all of her life, she was in a relationship and this causes her to come off as easy and trampy to an extent. I did not enjoy this aspect of the book.
Would I Recommend This Book:
Yes, to my MC loving friends who have a high tolerance for angst.
Final Star Rating:
4 of 5 stars
Chase and Roxy grew up together. They've been harboring feelings for each other for years. But being in an MC, there are rules. Rules that state MC's can't mix. And it just so happens that Chase is part of another MC.
“You and that boy are to stay away from each other, do you hear me? If he’s with Jeremy, you walk away. I don’t ever want to have this discussion with you again. He’s no good for you and this club. Do you understand me?”
With the President of the Condemned Angels on their back, reminding them of what could never be, Chase does what he knows must be done.....breaks Roxy's heart and promises her father that he will stay away.
“In order for me to keep my club and myself safe, but most importantly Rox safe, I have to let her go.”
Roxy is heartbroken but knows that she must stay away. She takes off to college and hopes that the distance will help. Four years later, Roxy is back from college, working at her brother, Jeremy’s club and in a relationship. But things have changed and seeing Chase again brings the strong feelings to the surface that she just can’t seem to get over. After seeing Chase for the first time in four years, she knew that it was going to be really hard to ignore her feelings.
“God, those lips-if I could just. No, Roxy. He left you high and dry in a hallway, never to be heard from again. Don’t you dare fall for him…again.”
Four years. Four years and the minute Chase sees Roxy, he's mesmerized. I love how he tries to mentally convince himself that he has a promise to keep but physically fails every time he's around her.Read more ›
I was also not expecting a huge cliffhanger ending...a warning would have been nice because I don't like to buy a book unless I know it is not a complete story beforehand.
Contains plenty of angsty sexual passion, extremely violent scenes and some vicious battering of women. A quick short read with some playful dialogue and lots of action if you are in the mood for a rough diversion.

Good MC read with great characters with a sort of Romeo and Juliet theme to it. Both Chase and Roxy are from two different MC's (not rivals) who fall for each other. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Amber L Shriver
This is a great story any way you detail it up. A girl in love with her brother's best friend and then add another obstacle like rivalries. That sums it up in a nut shell.Published 14 months ago by Reese
