I do recommend using a hairdryer like in the instructions because after you are finished it works really well for cleaning the pot if your wax has hardened.
Update, I made some candles. They were so easy to make and they smell wonderful! My favorite is the lavender!
First of all, the tin cans are kind of useless if you are making candles to sell, they are the very basic container you can find and not looking very good. But if you are serious about selling candles then you should know better to invest in your own jars anyway!
Second point and maybe the most important reason why I took a star off is the wicks! Wicks are nice and all but I did not like the way they burn at all! Could have been better in quality so that it burns a little bit smoother.
The color blocks are very nice and even though they are smaller than in the pictures there are enough for plenty of candles. So no problems there.
The pouring pot and the wax are good quality and they get the job done!
While it's a good buy, the packaging was horrible. You have the 2 glass pieces, a fragrance liquid, and other supplies placed inside the large pitcher and shrink wrapped. That's it. There's absolutely nothing to pad or protect the individual pieces that are sitting within a large pitcher. So while it was padded with Amazon's usual inflated plastic thingies on the outside, all the pieces are rattling around on the inside. I was concerned before I even opened the box it was shipped in, because I could hear everything rattling.
When I opened it, I discovered that about 1/4 of the fragrance liquid had leaked out over everything and that the glass votive cup was broken. The jar was miraculously intact and everything else was ok. I called Amazon and they said I could ship it back and they'd send me a new one (pointless since that would just mean another crap shoot that everything would arrive intact) or give me a discount. However, that still doesn't fix the problem that I'm down one of the glasses I bought. I told them that all I wanted was the contact information of the seller, so I could ask them to send me replacements for the piece that was damaged.
After a long, frustrating call with Amazon where they refused to give me their contact information multiple times and I had to speak with a supervisor, I finally got the seller's email address (they don't have a phone number). It's a personal yahoo email - personally I don't know if it's worth continuing with the frustration over a cheap glass cup. I really thought it'd be simpler to deal with this.
Would I recommend this? It's probably still a decent deal, even without all the fragrance and 1 of the 2 jars. Just realize that there's a very good chance that this won't all arrive as it appears. Assume that at least 1 (or both) of the glass jars will be unusable and that the fragrance may or may not have seeped out. If it's still worth it to you for the pitcher, thermometer, wicks, tea light pieces, wax, color, and instructions, then buy it. If the absence of the glass pieces and/or the fragrance would make a different product more appealing, then go with that one.
