My favorite was Burnout Revenge. I think I literally wore out my controller on it.
I loved the massive destruction and got so good at the tracks that my friends wouldn't race me anymore.
I still haven't raced on this version, I'm mostly just driving around looking for billboards to fly through or barriers to destroy.
It's been fun finding more and more hidden passages to make racing all the more interesting - and I've been concentrating on the island and haven't even looked at the mainland yet.
But honestly, I love the way it looks - even if the music (gratefully muted for the most part) is pretty generic.
I'm looking forward to diving in this weekend.
The main thing to take away from this release is that it’s very faithful to the PS3 version with updated graphics. If you weren’t a fan of it originally, you probably won’t be won over this time. But for the fans of the original and new players, it’s truly an amazing experience. The cars handle extremely smoothly. I’m not a diehard racing fan so the Burnout series and the Forza Horizon series are about as far as I go into racing, but this game is so fun to play. Racing through Paradise City is the best. It comes with all the DLC that was released for the game originally, so it’s a great value at $40. Big Surf Island adds a large new area to the map and has tons of new jumps and ramps to drive your car off.
You can start a race by pulling up to one of the many intersections and spinning your tires. Races go to different areas within the Paradise City open world map, and there are shortcuts scattered throughout the map. One shortcut might take you far ahead of the competition or you may find yourself behind if you wreck because of the added risk of crashing that comes from them. The sound tracks are also great. The beats of the songs kind of blend into the car engines sounds making it hypnotic at times.
Overall, Burnout Paradise is better than it’s ever been, and it’s great to be playing it again. I 100% recommend this game to anyone who likes racing games. It’s a great game.
Nostalgia aside though this is still a solid game, I started playing and only noticed what felt like a little while later that I'd been playing for hours! You still need to work your way up to get the best cars and I've not.started playing on the bikes yet but this game is still one of my favorites. Now on PS4!
This game is a refreshing breath of air in a generation dominated by more realistic racers. I've missed the arcade racers such as Blur and Split/Second. Fortunately Burnout Paradise is able to fill that void.
