From the Author
Betsy is surrounded by the people of Pecan Bayou Texas who include an annoying reporter, a beautician who may have sucked up a little too much Final Net, the daughter of an old cowboy star and some four star establishments like Earl's Coffee, the town's very own version of Starbucks (don't wake Earl if he's napping-just get your own damn coffee and leave a buck on the counter) and Birdie's Diner where hamburgers and milkshakes are an art form.
I have really tried to create a place that frankly, if it weren't for the incredibly high amount of homicide cases, wouldn't mind living myself. In Burnout the local weatherman, Hurricane Hal, who appears daily on NUTV has come down with a case of the flu. Betsy's husband takes over for him and finds he's an instant celebrity meanwhile Betsy struggles with her own bout of stomach trouble. When a fire breaks out that looks like arson, Betsy is afraid she may have lost an old friend who has been missing since the blaze.
