When my baby was just about 12 months old I bought a pair of these in the 12 month size because I had purchased a 12 month sleeper and it was way to tight on her...we were getting her matching jammies with her Grandma so I wanted to make it work. The 2-piece fit much better than the sleeper, though they were still a bit tight in the arms. I've liked them because they are such a great fabric and so darn cute. I love that they have the cuffs that keep them in place at the ankles and they actually keep her belly covered at night because the top is a nice long length. So, I decided to get my now newly 18 month old another pair so we could get all the benefits that I mentioned but hopefully the arms would be a bit looser and I was totally mistaken. I swear they use the same arms, arm cuffs and leg cuffs on all of their sizes, they are so darn tight! The arms are just as tight as her 12 month size if not tighter. They are longer, and the waist is looser (too loose on her, but not surprising because she is petite) but we really had to force her arms in to get these on. So bummed.
Seriously Burt, I love your baby clothing, but please loosen up the arms a bit!
The problem I have is with the shirt. I understand that they make pjs "snug" but the sleeve is uncomfortably snug. Even before washing my toddler complained about it. And because I ordered a size up I have to roll the sleeves which kind of makes it worse. At the same time I can't imagine these fitting once her arms are long enough for the size. She is very slender and can still wear some 12 and 18 month shirts, so not a thick armed kid. The prints are so cute, unfortunately I do not recommend. We will stick with carters or splurge and get some bamboo pjs from lark adventurer or sleepies next time.
Honestly steer clear for any chubby kiddos! But nice quality and darling if your little ones are built like Jack Skellington, or are normal weight and 4ish and up.
It arrived today and I immediately threw it in the washing machine so she could wear it tonight. When I took it out of the dryer I was so sad to see there is a hole in the butt. The fabric was not sewn correctly there, a simple mistake, but one that should have been caught in quality control.
I imagine there is a way I could return this item for a refund, but I honestly have no time for that, I work 50 hours a week and am not going to go to a print shop with my two year old daughter to print a label then go to a mail store to wait outside in line in 115 degree weather (Arizona) because they only allow one person inside at a time.
So please, Burts Bees, quality check your products before mailing!
