An Instant Classic
When Burt and Roxanne started making lip balm from a time-tested beeswax formula, they had no idea it would become the recipe for a whole company. These days Burt’s Bees sells a tube of beeswax lip balm every two seconds, and we’ve added more lip care products that offer the remarkable natural benefits of our flagship ingredient. Choose from our collection of natural lip balms formulated to moisturize, hydrate and nourish.
Treat Your Lips To A True Original
Our moisturizing, hydrating, 100% natural lip care formula contains beeswax to condition and naturally shield the lips with antioxidant rich vitamin E. A hint of mint enlivens the lips and provides soothing tingle.

1) It tastes like peppermint. I know it's mentioned in the online description, but it's not stated prominently on the package (but there is mention of peppermint oil in the ingredients list).
2) There's more in the tin than in the tube, for about the same price. The tin has 0.3oz, the tube had 0.15oz. Both go for about 3 bucks and some change. It's a no brainer to go with the tin.
Since then, they have been bought by Clorox and have changed the recipe a few times: the stick is different from the old tin, and the new tin is different from the other two.
I don't care for this new incarnation at all. It goes on thickly and makes my lips feel sticky and gooey. It wears off quickly.
My solution has been to give all this new-generation Burt's lip balm away and re-order some of the original stuff while it is still available out there. I hope the company will continue to make the old recipe and that Amazon will continue to carry it.
Be forewarned,...it is LITERALLY likecarmex,...tingle/sting/ whatever you want to call it. i love it, but i imagine others would be put off by it, bc it is strong. But there is nothing that works better for soft lips then putting this on nightly before bed.
About the balm, I like how it tingles and it provides very good protection and moisture in my opinion.

I have one in every purse and drawer. Love it but wish they made a larger container or one big one that I could refill all the little ones with.Published 13 days ago by Cheetah

I hate the way that most lip balm feels but this is the only one that I have found that is not too heavy.Published 2 months ago by Kip Thomas
I love this stuff. For some reason, the balm in the tins is softer than the stuff in the tubes. Maybe it's because I keep it in my pocket and warmed up by the body heat and the tin... Read morePublished 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
