Product Description

The br1 solder able pc breadboard enables you to transfer your circuit and wires from a plug-in breadboard without wires or changing your layout. the br1 has the same pattern and spacing as a standard 830 connection point solderless plug-in breadboard. it has a standard 5-hole strip for each ic pin, just like solderless breadboards. however, it has the advantage that soldered joints provide a more reliable long-term connection than solderless contacts. The br1 has four power rails like solderless breadboards, plus two bonus rails for power or signals. there are bonus two-hole pads along the centerline allowing dil (dual in-line) headers to be used. bps prototyping boards use high-quality fr4 glass epoxy pcbs for long life, with an anti-tarnish protective coating for easy soldering. bps boards are lead-free and rohs compatible.

Nice, thick, durable pads mounted to high-quality, nearly perfectly flat fiberglass. Stands up to several solder/desolder cycles as long as you have your iron set to an appropriate heat setting. The three rails (instead of the usual one or two) on both sides layed out perpendicular to the smaller pads are very highly appreciated...I often have two-three signals, positive and negative voltage, and ground on the things I build and having 6 of them really make layout easier.

Excellent quality fiberglass breadboard. A joy to solder! Easy to layout, very similar to the temporary solderless breadboards. I've done four or five projects on these and keep buying them. If you have small projects, just use a miter saw or bandsaw to cut them apart. The holes are drilled large enough for the solder to wick out by itself, if you make a mistake, so that's another great feature!

i was a bit upset about the price (before radio shack went down they had a similar board for much cheaper). it's worth the $6.50 but another $6 in shipping was pretty absurd. Nonetheless i had no other choice, and i'm very pleased with the quality of this board. it is better than radio shacks board, though i could get three for the same price last year and also didn't have to wait for them to get here.

over all a very good product. i took away a star for the shipping price and the amount of time it took them to actually ship it.
ordered on July 27th, shipped on August 1st, arrived August 3rd (August 2nd being Sunday). which means it could have been here the day after i ordered it if they shipped it on time.

Sip headers Dip headers 1X & 2X .1" pin headers 6 power/signal rails and real FR4. Not that smelly brown CN bakelite. More versatile than the Solderable "830" point breadboards. about the ONLY minus is that the board is single sided non PTH but for small projects especially those that require 'modules' like GPS or nRF24XX radios. Most nRF24 series radios have 2 rows of 5 pins on .1 ctr's... this board accommodates them well. As a point of fact it is the only one that is easy to use, 2 holes/pin Not some jumpered nightmare. Easily the Best I've seen in 40 years of prototyping electronics stuff. I'm retired now but when working I had boards similar to this MFR'd for my prototype work but mine weren't as versatile.
It says at the Bottom "Built for Designers" I concur wholeheartedly

The product is as advertised but is of minimal use. The above reviewer indicates it is compatible with a standard breadboard. However, this is not really true. This solderable board is narrower than a standard breadboard so the power rails do not line up. I have confirmed with BusBoards that they designed the solderable board to have .1" spacing.

Both this one and it's little sister, the SB400, are my all-time favorites for making that solderless breadboard project permanent. More buses means you will have enough for not only 5 or 3.3 volt feeds, but also power busses for analog circuitry... or the ever needed reset line. Copper thickness is good, yet can be cut with a rotary cutter when needed. I really appreciate that the pads are NOT plated through holes, making unexpected corrections much easier. Pre-drilled mounting holes saves another step on the way to the finished project. If you are still laboring over single hole patterns, or stripboard, here is the product to get you to the modern era... and save considerable time in the process. Just wish I could buy in 5 packs.

A fiberglas board substrate is uncommon quality these days, and this one comes with a standardized printed wiring, and pre-driled for through-hole components. (Drilling through fiberglas rapidly wears out drill bits, too.) The perfboard is laid out for a linear series of DIP IC's, with plenty of room for lateral mounted RCs and TO-92 transistors. And for my current projects the size is perfect for the six DIP IC circuits I design and build for my hobby electroherbalism research experiments that are entertaining and health-enhancing for me. Was really nice to find this available; is appreciated.
