As soon as I opened the box, I realized how dated the book looked. I hadn't noticed the dates of the other reviews (all almost 10 years old) It was published in 1998. That doesn't seem like so long ago, but in styling terms, it's an entire era. The updos demonstrated were too dated to consider offering my brides.
The business advice is all aimed towards building a "bridal department" in a salon. Most of it is common sense. This advice would not be helpful to an established bridal company. The advertising and networking tips would only be helpful for beginners aiming for local clientele. This book was written when the internet was too new to be the second nature part of our lives that it is today. So again, like the hair styles, it's really advice from another era.
After reading a few pages and flipping through the rest of the book, I quickly realized this book is not worth the $40.
