After receiving my package and seeing what was inside, I first thought the description provided on the Amazon site was misleading and asked the vendor about this. The Amazon description says that Windows 7 is pre-installed and a license for Windows 8 is provided. Recovery disks for Windows 8 were included, but no Windows 7 disks, so I asked the vendor which operating system is pre-installed. The vendor said the manufacturer's specs described it as Windows 8 with an option to downgrade to Windows 7, so I thought the Amazon description was misleading.

I connected the machine and turned it on, thinking it would launch Windows 8, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it launched Windows 7 instead. My whole setup went very smoothly, and I'm thrilled with this new computer. Amazon's description of Windows 7 pre-installed with license for Windows 8 is absolutely correct. Maybe someday in the future I'll have to deal with learning Windows 8, but for now I'm happy to have a brand new Windows 7 system working perfectly.

If you're not anxious to switch to Windows 8 yet, I think you'll be as pleased with this computer as I am.

My old computer was still running Windows XP so it was getting to be time to replace it. But I'm one of those folks who wants to stay away from Windows 8 and the pickings for new Windows 7 machines are pretty thin. So I finally decided on this one; and I am totally pleased with it. Its performance is everything I could ask for; and, at $388, I think its a great value. The vender, TEKENVY, was 5-star.

I have a some sort of PC for over 10 years...refurbished or handed down from a friend. This is my first experience with a new machine. It is (almost) all good. I have good experience with HP products...this is no exception. Very easy to set up. I used Windows easy transfer program to get the files I wanted off my old computer and onto my new one. I have a ridiculous amount of music and pictures that I store and use on the computer. I watch programs and video more on the computer than on TV. It works great for that. Works well with an old HP printer...Windows 7 automatically installed the correct drivers to make it work.I was very nervous about the lack of support for XP (ending at the beginning of Feb, I think) and thinking about a computer with Windows 8 made me queasy. Hewlett Packard have taken new computers with Windows 8 and pre installed them with Windows 7. The operating system in the computer is Windows 7 but there are disks to install Windows 8...if I would ever want to do that (as if!)
Oh, so you want to know the "almost" part? The power plug that came with my new computer doesn't work. I set it all up and plugged it in and nada...nothing. Then I took my old cord and used that and it worked perfectly. I emailed the company I bought it from for a replacement (on Amazon...Tiger Direct) and they emailed me back saying that they don't deal in parts...I could just send the whole thing back. Sorry but I find that just a little outrageous! Not worth my time.

What I was looking for at a good price. Fried my old desk top by spilling coffee on it and didn't want to purchase a whole new computer as I had the monitor and key board and mouse. This computer came with a keyboard and mouse. A good buy, works great.

I just had the new computer installed yesterday, but so far I LOVE it. My old computer had Windows Vista, and I like Windows 7 much more. I like the looks of it too; it is more compact and sleeker than my old one.
I ordered it on a Thursday night, and the next afternoon received a shipping confirmation to expect it in about 7 days; that same afternoon it was sitting by my front door! It came from here in California, but I was still pleasantly surprised, especially since the shipping was free! So far, so good!

This was a gift for my daughter who seemed to be pleased and had no complaints so I assume all is well.
