The key word on this CD, is butchering, its Rock Stars playing BEATLE tunes with a new millenium twist and sound. Its a nice change from other tribute CD's were they try to sound like the original, its one of the better CD's I've purchase in awhile. Theres plenty of stand-out tracks: (Lucy in the Sky)w/ Geoff Tate--(I Saw Here Standing There)w/John Corabi--(Drive My Car)w/Kip Winger. Every song has a great twist, definitely worth the purchase. I highly recommend it. Bob Kulick did a great job of assembling this CD, with these awesome musicians. The only thing negative about this CD is the cheesy CD cover. Four guys in butcher coats, I mean I won't lose any sleep over it,but COME ON. Grab the CD today.

This is a different take on classic Beatles songs. I like it because they didn't cover the same songs we've heard covered 10,000 times already. The album opens with Alice Cooper singing Hey Bulldog. The version of Day Tripper is awesome. Headbangers and Beatles fans alike will appreciate this release. The songs are done in a respectful manner by top-notch musicians. Buy this and enjoy.

Von Beatles-Songs gibt es hervorragende Coverversionen. Ich erinnere an Joe Cockers "With a little help .." oder Wilson Picketts "Hey Jude" mit Duane Allman an der Slide-Gitarre. Auf der von Gitarrist Bob Kulick mitproduzierten "Butchering the Beatles"-Scheibe betätigt sich ein Who is Who der Rockmusik als 'Verwurster' bekannter Beatles-Kompositionen. Einigendes Band der beteiligten Musiker ist ihre Verehrung der Fab Four, wie sie in Kulicks Widmung im Booklet zum Ausdruck kommt. Die Scheibe enthält einige Highlights, mehrere durchschnittliche Titel sowie ein paar bestenfalls unauffälige Songs. Mit "Hey bulldog" fängt das Album richtig gut an. Alice Cooper und Steve Vai lassen die 'Bulldogge' so richtig aufheulen. Das folgende "Back in the USSR" wird durch Lemmys unnachahmliche Stimme geadelt. "I saw her standing there" mit einem bestens aufgelegten John Corabi am Mikro geht mit sattem Gitarrenfundament voll ab. Absolutes Highlight der 'Schlachter'-Scheibe ist jedoch "Revolution". Billy Gibbons von ZZ Top und Vivian Campbell von Def Leppard jagen den Song durch die Bluesrock-Mühle, daß es eine wahre Freude ist. Guter Durchschnitt sind "Lucy in the sky ...", "Day tripper" und "I feel fine". "Hey Jude" überzeugt zwar instrumental. 'Ripper' Owens Stimme passt jedoch nicht zu der Song-Vorlage. Wenig beeindruckt bin ich von der nervigen Version von "Tomorrow never knows" mit Billy Idol sowie "Magical mystery tour" mit Yngwie Malmsteens aufdringlichem Gitarrenakkorden. Bestenfalls unauffällig sind "Taxman" und "Drive my car". Die Beatles-Schlachter liefern somit zwar kein überragendes, aber doch ein hörenswertes Album ab. Die offenbar coveralbum-typische unterschiedliche Qualität in der Bearbeitung der Songvorlagen hat sich aber auch bei dieser Scheibe nicht vermeiden lassen.

This is no tuppenny ha'penny get together, this is a wealth of talent giving those old Beatles fave's a darned good trouncing for good and all time. As the other reviewer says, there are more Stars on here than you can shake a stick at, so if you like The Beatles, are a Beatles fan, or just want a darned good album with rockingly great renditions of those fave's of yesteryear, then this is it!
