It's a great series, but I have a few nits to pick. Every time I see the word bellisimo in the book description, blurb, or whatever, I cringe. If the narrator can say it correctly, why can't someone just fix the spelling of one single important word, the loving pet name of Adelina? For cripes sake.
Secondly, Cane was a dick. How could he think that giving Adelina back was something he could live with??? I was with Pearl. Who knew better than Pearl, the kind of treatment Adelina was going to receive when she was returned to her owner, Tristan? I felt for both of them.
Penelope wrote Pearl so well, she will always be on my list as a brave, loving, and enduring character, but she fell short of the mark with Adelina. I think I loved and hated Crow in this book just as much as I did in the first two books.
Any waaay ... *smiles sheepishly*
I'm glad Crow and Pearl were included in book 4 and 5.
As much as this book was about Cane's journey toward redemption, he has some serious eggs to beat in his basket, one of them being Constantine, a nefarious character from his past. Will he be friend or foe?
Constantine is an intriguing character. I wonder if there is a book in the works with a story arc for him. Does anyone know?
Gimme that next book already. :D
The Good – So there were a few twists in this one that I didn’t see coming. I love how much of Crow and Pearl we see in this book. Even though we are focused on Cane we still see plenty of his brother. I enjoyed the connection that Adelina is able to make with Pearl.
The Bad – Again, mainly the cliffhanger aspect. Ugh….I need more now. I need to know what Tristan does and the Skull Kings, what is Constantine up to? So really nothing was bad except I need to wait a couple of months to get my answers.
For those who don’t enjoy cliffhangers you probably need to hold off on starting this series as it is a dozy. If you can take it, grab it now....I finished it in a day it was so good!

#MSBB - I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Buttons and Blame is part 5 of the series - if you haven't read the previous parts, I highly recommend them. I also suggest not reading this review in case it spoils any of the storyline for you.
Buttons and Blame continues the story of Crow and Pearl as they settle into married life and try to find a compromise that they are both happy with. And Cane and Adelina as Cane shows her what's it like to be treated they way she should be, for another two weeks at least.
After Pearl returns from her visit to Tristan, Crow is really unhappy with her and doesn't speak to her for almost two weeks - she put her own life at risk to try to save Adelina. Pearl is the most important person in Crow's life but for how long? Will Pearl ever learn that she is not indestructible?
Cane realises that he's made a mistake in returning Adelina to Tristan and gets a team together, including his brother, to go and get her back. Will they succeed in killing Tristan and his men? Will Adelina still be alive when they get to Tristan's compound?
Buttons and Blame is an action packed, unconventional love story that you do not want to miss reading. The loyalty that Crow and Cane have as brothers and the strength that both Pearl and Adelina posess can been felt throughout the story.
I am truly looking forward to the Buttons and Grace. I can't wait to see how this series will end.
