"If Jim Benton had written this blurb, it would have been more shorter, smarter, and would have contained a salient observation on human nature." - Zach Weinersmith, Cartoonist, SMBC-comics.com
"Essentially, if you or your recipient like books that make you want to photograph and tweet every page, you should buy this. The beautifully-named 'Dog Butts and Love. And Stuff Like That. And Cats.' is available in paperback or Kindle at Amazon UK, but we'd argue this is one of those books you want in the flesh." - Holly Brockwell, Gadgette.com
"Jim Benton is an amazing artist and writer, who has for years graced the internet with his hilarious and sometimes poignant comics. His clever humour has sparked thousands of conversations on our site, and for the past four years he has engaged the reddit community with wit and charm alike. Jim's comics are beloved highlights in a sea of billions of posts we see on reddit, and he has consistently managed to stand out, making us (and many others) laugh nearly every day."
-Alex Angel, Community Manager, reddit.com
"...Eventually I peeked over her shoulder, and started laughing, too. Eventually we went through the whole book together, front to back.
It was marvelously entertaining, because Benton is obviously insane, or insanely creative. Not two gags were very much alike, and tone and subject matter ranged from light-hearted "The Far Side" kind of stuff, to the black humor of Charles Addams' "The Addams Family," and everywhere in between.
"...there are also lots of gags about death, particularly murder, and breasts. The former points to a pleasing dark edge that runs through Benton's cartoons and gives them some heft, while the latter at least shows his comedy is unfiltered. The gags...are tricked out with ironic twists and surrealist humor....Benton is best-known as a one-man children's franchise blockbuster, having created the kids' series The Dumb Diaries, It's Happy Bunny, and more. His name is still not quite household-level, but this collection might open up offline readers to his adult material." -- Publishers Weekly
"To have a collection of his best works available in one collection is a huge victory for humanity, for he has a talent for illustrating some truly laugh out loud stuff that tickles everyone's funny bones. The fact he doesn't rely on one style of illustration keeps things fresh, and makes him a chameleon in comics.
