Voice Activation System1. Turn on the VAS switch on the top of the cassette player. 2. The cassette will start recording when there have sounds. 3. Turn off the VAS switch on the top of the cassette player. 4. The cassette will record whether there has sound or not. |
Tips For Best Radio Reception1. The earphone cord works as an external FM antenna. to insure maximum FM tuner sensitivity.Always keep the earphone cord fully extended, don't wind or fold the earphone cord. 2. For maximum AM sensitivity, be sure to place the unit in a vertical position.Keep turning the unit slowly while keeping it vertical until the best reception is obtained. |
Battery Operation1. Open the battery door by sliding it downwards, then hinging upwards. 2. Insert 2 AA(UM-3) batteries and close the battery door. 3. Be sure the batteries are installed correctly. The wrong polarity may damage the unit. 4.Don't mix old and new batteries,or mix alkaline,standard(carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. 5. Recording Operation1. Before recording, please check the bottom of the cassette tape on both sides, it must have two "Recording Lips". 2. Open the cassette door and insert a blank tape, close the cassette door, press the "REC" button(in red color) to start record. 3. Understand cassettes and this thing does the trick
This thing works. It isn't glamorous, and the mini speaker on it is a joke, but with headphones and good cassette tapes it Works. I've been using it frequently for over a week now. I do wonder how long it will last with intense use, but for this price it isn't bad.Now I've seen other reviews complain about bad sound and their cassettes sounding like Alvin and the chipmunks. First, there is a screw on the back to fix the latter issue. It's annoying and you'll need a tiny screwdriver to get to it, but this is easily fixable. Mine didn't have this problem.Next, if you have bad sound in general, keep in mind the medium you're listening to. Cassette tapes, even the best quality ones on the best equipment, will never quite reach the clarity of CDs or digital. Next, if a tape isn't stored properly or was just not maintained properly, like maybe the tape was chewed up at one point, then YES, your sound will be crap! I'm not sure why some reviews are complaining about sound. Cassette tapes, especially old ones that have been used hundreds of times, will have some hiss and probably some warp. That isn't this device's fault. Maybe double check your headphones too.Now I mentioned that the mini speaker sucks. It sounds worthless, and I dunno why they even bothered including it. Plus it's quiet. I couldn't hope to hear it if I moved more than five feet away even in a quiet room. Maybe they could have taken that out to fit in auto stop or bump protection.I do wish this thing had an auto stop when fast forwarding and rewinding, though I know that comes with its own host of issues. I've killed a set of batteries because I was fast forwarding a tape and forgot about it. Left it for an entire day. Came back and the batteries were dead. It may have damaged my tape too. I knew this was an issue when I did it this last time, so it was kinda my fault, but life gets crazy and sometimes you forget you hit a button. I'm just saying, auto stop when rewinding would be nice.Another thing, this isn't a sport walkman, so you'll hear every bump and jostle on your headphones. Don't go treating this rough, and definitely do not drop it!Picks up radio signals fine.Last thing... I ordered a pink because it was slightly cheaper. They sent me a black. Others have complained about getting the wrong color, so keep that in mind when ordering.I haven't used the record function at all.In the end I got this to listen to old cassette albums and some underground indie tapes. It's for fun, and this served my purposes.

Anyone who is unsure whether or not to get this cassette player, due to the other reviews claiming that it plays tapes too quickly/slowly, please do not listen to them! The speed can be adjusted(Shown in the first photo) through the hole, use a thin flathead screwdriver! If that does not work, make sure the batteries you are using are new/fully charged! The batteries should also have an output of 1.5V, any higher might shorten the cassette player's lifespan and make the run speed higher. If the tapes are playing slowly no matter how you adjust it, make sure you use new batteries and they should not have a lower output than 1.5V!
I'm glad I ignored the other bad reviews that claimed the player speeds/slows down the tapes! That is total nonsense made by people who have no experience in cassette players or people who have not done the proper/necessary research! If you have any worries/questions, you can consult the people on the Subreddit, r/cassetteculture.
If you wish to not ruin your cassettes, like any other players, DO NOT SWITCH FROM F.FWD TO RWIND TO PLAY. Always use the stop button to stop the action before switching to another.
