Challenge yourself with different difficulty levels and game field sizes
Love Checkers or Reversi? Then try Blots, a simple yet addictive strategy game that you can play alone, share a screen with a friend, or play over the Internet. The game starts with two bases in opposite corners of the game field. Players take turns and make several moves per turn. During each move player may claim (paint) new cell or capture (paint over) opponent’s cell. When your opponent has nowhere to move, you win. Features include three play modes, tutorial, multiple difficulty levels, and multiple game field sizes.
Before trying this game, I thought it was overrated and going to be easily "solved", meaning by making certain moves a player could guarantee victory from the first move. Instead, I found a delightful and creative new 2 player challenge, that may prove to be more in depth and strategic than other two player games. What's cool about it is each of your pieces is used for invading the enemy, yet vulnerable to your opponent's plays. This demands a defensive mind set at the beginning that changes to offensive once the board starts to fill. Overall great game, I would like to see how more players might be incorporated, maybe team play?
