Thus, David Watts has become a doctor, a professionally trained musician, an inventor, a radio and television personality and an accomplished poet and writer. His literary credits include seven books of poetry, two collections of short stories, a mystery novel and several essays. He has received awards in academics, medical excellence, television production and for the quality of his writing. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF and Professor of Poetry in the Fromm Institute at USF.

He is a Master Farrier, and when not under a horse, is riding one, exploring the Verde River, treasure hunting in Sycamore Canyon or working on the movie C-Bar. Mark and Marcia live in a small adobe house surrounded by a guest cabin, a barn, and a horseshoeing shop. If you get out to the ranch, Marcia will answer the door with a big smile, and you’ll feel like a youngster again, asking if Mark can come out and play.

This is an unbelievable book, as the characters of interest are described beyond belief. Mr. Baugher did an excellent job of mesmerizing his readers from beginning to end. His ability to make me feel as if I was among the characters and their daily activities is beyond belief.

Five stars or more, as I was completely involved in the action from page one until the final paragraph. I cannot put into words how the author could so romantically express himself, yet make the storylines so dramatic that my mind floated along without any interference whatsoever.

Very few first novels are this overpowering, but I cannot really define my true comfort in following the excitement I felt through the entire book. I certainly hope there will be a sequel in the not too distant future.

Recommend this book? You bet your life. I have no doubt that if you read these many different escapades of the characters that you will be as impressed as I am. Those of you not reading the book are the losers.

I stopped reading this book after coming upon bad language. I feel that if an author has such poor usage of the English language that he hast to resort to foul language then it’s not really worth reading. I had high hopes for this series but very disappointed.

The book was a great set of stories that wrap around and come together very well. The characters are excellent and I think may be a bit more real than other westerns. Will read the next for sure

This writer has a good story line and makes it very exciting. I do not believe he has to have such cussing in his books to make them entertaining. Cussing shows a lack of a vocabulary in expressing ones self.
