-I got this cable to connect my laptop to my 43" HDTV to watch movies, home videos and play computer games on the TV.
-I had a thicker, 6ft HDMI cable that we purchased from Wal-Mart for $16 that would instantly be recognized as a monitor and had audio when it was plugged into my laptop. But our HDTV is sitting on our fireplace mantle and THAT cable was too short, which is why I purchased this longer one.
-I expected the cable to be the same thickness/sturdiness as our other HDMI cable, but this one is thinner. It's about the thickness of a standard USB cable, but it DOESN'T feel flimsy/cheap though.
-Plugging the cable into my laptop, it recognized the HDTV as a monitor right away, but would not transfer audio (even though I marked HDMI device as the playback device) until I had restarted my laptop with the HDMI cable plugged in.
-Cable is a good length for sitting across the living room (for the best view) and playing games on the TV.
=WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS CABLE?=
-I would recommend this cable to anyone who wanted to use it for the same thing I use it for (because I haven't used it for anything else).
!! Just remember that if you're having trouble with the audio playing back through your laptop instead of your HDTV, plug the cable in and then restart your PC AND make sure "HDMI Device" is selected for playback in your audio settings.
Picture quality rivals that of more expensive cables
Fully capable of handling 1080p resolutions at 60hz refresh rate
Length of the cable
Seems to be well constructed
Ships from China
Customs will probably hold onto it for a while
I wish the packaging was a little better
I'm struggling to find another con, but I genuinely can't. It's an excellent cable for the price, certainly better than paying $30 for 8 feet of cable at Best Buy or Walmart.
Digital is digital plain and simple, as long as the 1's nd 0's get from point A to point B, you have the perfect signal. That is why expensive cables offer nothing more than cheap cables for 99% of applications. Now if you have extreme environments you may experience some issues, but for most home entertainment options, you will be more than satisfied with this cable and others made by this manufacturer.
I have purchased 6 cables of various length from this manufacturer, spent less than $12 to have them all shipped to my door, all were very well made. I am betting that most consumers at the store are paying way over that price for a single cable and being told that their cables are supperior. It is like saying Smart Water in a bottle is more nutritous than the water coming out of my tap. Really?
The guage of the wire is obviously small, but like I said you don't need heavy duty cable when I am hooking up my TV to my cable box that is 6 ft away and will not be touched for years.
If you like overpaying for stuff don't buy these cables. If you like getting the job done plain and simple, buy a few extra cables. You can afford it.
I had a different 10' HDMI and it works with my TV. The 10" was thankfully long enough
