About C.A. Bennett
C.A. Bennett was born in Montana and moved to California with her family when she was six. She majored in History, with Religious Studies as her minor, but also enjoys the study of Psychology. She was a Program Coordinator and Behavior Specialist before retiring to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. She is a mother of five sons and has a dog named Molly and a cat named Daisy. She loves to knit, crochet, weave, sew, and occasionally, she raids her husband's garage in search of tools and woodworking supplies. She also collects and uses vintage and antique typewriters, which can be found hidden in a variety of nooks and crannies throughout her home. She is still trying to figure out how she managed to raise five kids when she can't seem to keep the heartiest of houseplants alive for more than a few weeks.

Blog postThis morning, a Facebook writing group moderator posted the question, “How do you feel?” With a picture of Spock in front of the computer. The computer was asking the question of Spock and, being half Vulcan, he didn’t understand the question. His mother explained that the computer knows he’s half human, and is simply asking him how he feels in that context. Spock, in true Vulcan form, replies, “The question is irrelevant.” But is it? Even Spock has feelings, whether he chooses to acknow2 years ago Read more

Blog postI was thinking... many people didn’t get their tax refund and had to pay in for the first time in a very long time. Now we have this sudden crisis with its financial impact to tax-paying citizens.
Here comes the government to the rescue, saying, “We’re gonna enact a stimulus package and give every American a check!” The proposed check amount is oddly close to what the taxpayers would have got on their refund, and the government looks like the hero, coming to the rescue. Blog post“Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest for the trees.” That’s an old saying my grandparent’s generation used when we needed to focus on the here and now and stop trying to see what’s in the future, because we can’t actually see the future. We can’t know everything, and we cannot control everything, only God can.
That can be hard on some of us humans. We can see what we want, but not how to get it. We can see what we need, but not always what needs to be done to achieve it. That’s wh2 years ago Read more -
Blog postThere are so many sources out there who suggest authors give away free copies of their books in order to gain more readers. Especially ebook copies. As if an ebook copy is any less the story than the print copy. It’s the same work, the same time spent, the same story, just digital format. I would love to know when it became not only popular, but expected to do this, though I suspect either Amazon or Barnes & Nobel are responsible for it. Either way, I don’t believe it’s the reader’s faul2 years ago Read more

Blog postHello! As you may already know, I am not only a novelist, but a long-time blogger, and article writer. I’ve had several articles published to online magazines through HubPages and have a WordPress blog to which I occasionally publish my random musings and rants. I love to blog, and get feedback from my readers, so I hope you will enjoy this space and come back often. This being my first Goodreads blog post, and me being a newly self-published Detective/Mystery author, I decided it is a M2 years ago Read more

San Francisco—the infamous City by the Bay. There are dark elements at work, and it's not as easy as splitting the world into groups of Good Guys vs. Bad Guys. Lines are being crossed, and the rules don't always count.
Matt Vaughn, former police officer, turned upscale San Francisco Private Investigator has a problem. He finds himself unwillingly but inescapably in the employ of The Russian, who has kidnapped Matt's estranged wife and is holding her hostage until a stolen artifact is recovered. As Matt works to solve the mystery, he finds things aren’t exactly what they seem, and now he doesn’t know whom to trust.
To complicate matters, tough, ambitious Journalist, Charlie Cooper, finds herself unwittingly entangled in the drama and mystery of greedy, power-hungry entities. Charlie becomes torn between her duty to report on transpiring events and keeping her word to Matt Vaughn as he tries to solve the mystery.

“I'm really enjoying the read. It reminds me of a noir, Bogie type story from the forties, and the movies in black and white which I devoured as a young girl. It's a very good read and I am totally impressed with your writing ability.” - Lynn C.
“I'm about halfway through it. I'm not a book reader but this one is hard to put down. Way too to many coincidences,(with me)—San Francisco, A Charger, a 440 engine, Russian, a guy named Alex... Now I'm waiting for the next one!” - Alex L.
