It does what it's supposed to do. The only problem I had with it was when the signal went to sleep (wiggle the mouse to make the screen turn back on), I saw a glitched and stretched verson of the "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" screen of my monitor.

This connector is good to have. I use it at work for a TriCaster display. The only drawback is how you screw down the connector to the back of the computer. But it is not a big enough issue to not buy it.

I'm currently using this adapter with my beige Power Macintosh G3 333MHz minitower. It allows easy switching of resolutions without DIP switches, unlike many other adapters which are similarly priced.

Mac OS 9.0.4 lists the recommended resolutions below:

512 x 384, 70Hz
640 x 480, 85Hz
800 x 600, 85Hz
1024 x 768, 85Hz
1152 x 870, 75Hz
1280 x 960, 75Hz
1280 x 1024, 85Hz
1600 x 1200, 75Hz
1920 x 1080, 72Hz

While these may be the "recommended" resolutions, Mac OS 9 also lists "All" resolutions, which include all of the above at 60Hz, in addition to 640x480@67Hz, 640x480@72Hz, 800x600@56Hz, and 832x624@75Hz. I'm currently using 1280x1024@60Hz without a problem. All resolutions are available in 256, thousands, or millions of colors from the embedded video card.

The convenience of not manually setting the resolution via DIP switches is worth buying. In addition, I overnight-ed this adapter with Amazon Prime and it arrived at my doorstep the next day ($14 with shipping) for the same price competing adapters are being sold for with USPS priority shipping.

EDIT: The adapter also works flawlessly under OS X 10.2.8.

Great adapter. I was worried it would not work with my monitor (HP W2071d), because I dont think my monitor is multi sync, and I was reading that if it wasn't, I would need the adapter with dip switches. This arrived, and man, IT WORKED! It filled the entire LCD with the desktop screen and everything, which is exactly what I wanted!

Computer I used was a 1998 beige Power Mac G3 tower, 333 MHz.

My old PowerMac G3 beige tower needed a replacement monitor; I wanted to use a monitor from an old PC. Since the monitor connector on the old Mac is DB15 I needed an adapter to enable the use of a PC monitor with a VGA connector (HD15). I went to several local electronic stores, including stores that sell all Mac merchandise, no luck. I was told that I should order online, regular brick and mortar stores don't stock merchandise for old computers. Found and ordered this adapter from Amazon, very quick delivery, ordered on Sunday, received it on Wednesday with regular shipping.
