Frosty Cold One

Nice for reducing excessive wiring

If you only have 1 IDE device to hook up to the mobo, then why use a ribbon with a master/slave scheme? This cable looks slick and may help with airflow, depending on your tower. It was almost too long in my mid-tower case with mATX mobo. The boots are loose and don't stay all the way down at the connectors, which exposes the rainbow wires. This doesn't bother me because it provides some slack in an otherwise fairly rigid cable, and gives me a bit of wiggle room considering how the HDD cage is oriented in my CM Storm Scout case. First thing I did was tear off the paper pull tabs (ugly and useless).

PROS: Get rid of excessive IDE ribbons if you still have some 3-connector IDE cables in your rig and only need to connect one IDE device of each type to the mobo! Looks sharp and may improve your airflow.

CONS: A bit overpriced when shipping is taken into account. The boots are loose, which will bother some people.

I used one to connect an old Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 drive (not listed in my specs below).
