These wireless speakers did exactly what I wanted. They were super easy to set up. I just used the three provided AC adapters to plug everthing in and then attached the transmitter to the earphone jack of my Sharp TV. I really only needed one speaker so the second one was a bonus. The remote is handy but a bit unusual as it works independently with each speaker but you have to be close to the speaker you want to control. Also the remote will not turn the speaker on but they do not shut off by themselves. Since I am using the AC adaptors it is not a problem for me to just leave them on all the time. There is a rather bright blue light on the transmitter but I turned it around so it is facing the wall and it still works fine and I don't see the light anymore. The sound is a bit hollow but for the price paid I am more than satisfied. I can now hear the TV better without having to turn the volume way up.
Greatle addition to our camping trips. We have external speakers on our camper, but sometimes you don't want to have to blast it to all of the campground when you are sitting by the fire. Hook it up to my phone and play music or radio and set the speakers wherever you want. We often put one at each end of our bags games so each end has tunes. Takes a lot of batteries when you need to replace, but the battery usage seems reasonable for the amount we use them. They do also have ac adapters. Worth the $
Reason I bit the bullet on a receiver last month:
1.) Mainly to switch my inputs by remote vs walking over to a selector box.
2.) Having a system that could easily be added to a master remote vs a selector box with a weird remote then a remote for the speakers themselves which have to be powered on individually.
3.) For my wife to easily watch TV etc as she chooses
4.) I didn't want to spend thousands
5.) Wanted an equalizer for bass to keep noise down when the baby etc were sleeeping.
6.) Good Reviews
Why I like the Audio unlimited speakers better:
When watching something I have problems with the voices being too quiet vs the action too loud even after treatment to the room and receiver system. Reciever speakers sounded hollow prior to treatments and these wifi speakers sounded robust and full. Now don't get me wrong the speakers on the receiver are loud and amazing, but these wifi speakers sounded much better and I did not have to hold the remote in my hand to turn the volume down when action scenes started as with the receiver. Some might say to get better speakers etc for my receiver, but for under $200 these speakers were much better!
I have a speaker in my bathroom with a transceiver sending the signal from my bedside table for music in the AM.
I use them for outdoor projector setups for events such as the super bowl in a back yard using batteries
I use them next to the pool with batteries
The only issues I have after 4+ years of owning and using them all around the house is:
Individually turning on the power for each one and that has to be done via a power button vs a remote. I left them on most of the time.
A power outlet has to be wired up high for satellite type locations. Easy to do with new construction winged wire boxes.
Large size for satellite type speakers
The remotes eventually crack at the buttons, but packaging tape over a crack starting has added 2 years to one of the remotes.
All in all I plan to buy another set of 4 to add to my set of 6 I have now. I want them to use as backups encase the company goes out of business. I have extra transceivers for easy access to plug in my cell etc bc I have single or multiple speakers in various spots - garage, man cave, patio, bathroom, pool, and previously in the living room. I did have one power cord go bad on one speaker I used more than all the others and bought a replacement. All the speakers are still working fine after a lot of years.
I would not recommend these for a home theater set up, because they do not separate the channels.
I was slightly disappointed by the rather large size of these speakers, but they are ideal as you can add on speakers with only one transmitter!
