The pictured clamp has SEVEN holes.
The description says SIX holes ("It provides both five 1/4"-20 thread holes and one 3/8"-16 thread hole.")
Actual clamp has THREE holes.
1. Clamp as received.
2. Screen shot of item description, modified to show the threaded holes that are actually present (GREEN) and the missing holes (RED).
I did not measure, because there are verified buyers' photos that show it fitting neatly. Had I realized that it was not returnable, I would have certainly measured first. While not required, it would be nice if the seller noted in the description that sales of this item are final and cannot be returned.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR -- MEASURE THE OBJECT to be clamped FIRST!! If it's even close, don't buy. It is very tight and the applications are therefore quite limited.
My mother asked me if I could fabricate something to hold the cord out of the way in her ironing board. I used this clamp, a Bic pen tube, some twisted 12-gauge wire, and a bit of black spray paint to create a stem that clamps to the end of her ironing board and hold the cord up and out of the way. This clamp worked great for my purposes, and I was so impressed by it's versatility that I just ordered two more. I don't even have a use in mind for them, but I just know they'll be handy for some future projects.
However if there was a thread hole on the top (where the rubber with the clamp angle is) somewhere there it would be great, so I could bolt on some more bits and create a small stand up behind my monitor for things like a Rift sensors, headphone holder, etc.
You can't really tell from the photo but there is a nice thick plastisol coating on the parts of the clamp which contact the surface which both minimizes sliding and protects the surface of whatever you're mounting it on. The bottom part is indented so it also fits snugly on a curved surface, like a monitor stand. It's a solid, well-engineered, and versatile product all around.
