The CAP Barbell SDK5 Competition Weight Kettlebell sets the bar high for kettlebell quality. Each kettlebell is made from solid cast iron and the weight is accurate to within 1%. Each kettlebell is then machined and powder-coated, creating a seam-free surface with a texture that is both comfortable and easy to grip. The wide, flat base will ensure that your weight rests firmly on the ground without rocking. Each kettlebell is color-coded for easy identification and sorting and the weight is displayed in both pounds and kilograms.

No vinyl to tear
Heavy duty cast iron
Smooth on my hands which is very important for kettlebells
Enough room inside for 2 hands for a woman
Sits smoothly on the ground(also important)
I would recommend this time and time again to anyone as well as kettlebelling. If you are looking to get into a fun and fantastic workout then this is the bell you need. The only blemish at all with this item is the bottom of mine has a small dent but because it is such heavy duty cast iron it still sits completely flat on the floor. This is very high quality do not doubt yourself. Also a small aside I went to my local retailers looking to see if they carried this brand and they did not and I was so disappointed at what they had to offer. After using this CAP bell I am spoiled because they had nothing near this quality! I will definitely be purchasing more as I progress and need heavier bells!
Edit :06/28/2016 I have been using this bell almost everyday now for more than a month and this is still one of my favorite new fitness products highly recommend this one!
Update: 08/23/2016 3 months in and this kettlebell still looks brand new even with it taking a beating from my repeated use. I am almost ready to go up to a higher weight. What you can expect from adding a kettlebell is a fantastic workout even if you are a beginner. I started off with an easy 10 minute video almost every day and now I can do an intermediate 20 minute video or my favorite easy video twice. I am covered in sweat by the time I am done and ladies my butt has never looked so good.
My husband compliments my behind all the time so the results are real. My arms are much more toned and I am no longer ashamed to wear tank tops(even though I am still plus-size) and best of all kettlebelling is really fun! Give it a try and do not beat yourself up if you can only do a beginner 5-10 minutes because we all start somewhere! This bell is the one you want on your journey trust me.
At the time, the main supplier in the US was Dragon Door RKC kettlebells. I'd do super sets of double 16 kg snatches every day.
I was very pleased to see that this CAP brand kettlebell is just as good, if not better, than the Dragon Door kettlebells of that era! Much more affordable, as well - my expectations were not super high for the price, but CAP delivered.
The coating is excellent - smooth enough for long duration usage, but with enough grip to be confident in keeping a cannon ball in your hand and not making a hole through my back yard fence. I used to actually put on little kiddie fleece gloves when doing super sets, because my old kettlebells would eventually tear up my hands. The handle is also just barely wide enough, even at this modest weight, for two handed swings. I'm a 6'2 man, so this impressed me. It's a tight fit, but it works well enough.
The color coding is useful. The base is machined smooth enough for doing renegade rows, pushups, etc where a smooth bottom helps.
I'll probably purchase more of these in larger sizes now. Would recommend.
Before purchasing I did some research on kettlebells and chose this brand and style for a reason. For a cheaper price I could get something with a vinyl coating but due to reviews, opted for the cast iron for better grip. I tend to sweat a lot and I didn't want to lose my grip and send a 13 pound cannonball flying across the room or onto my foot. The grip on this one is perfect and I've had zero issues with sweat or slippage.
I've been training with this weight about a week now and I'm about ready to up my weight, and I will definitely be purchasing this brand and style again.
