I purchased this along with an AmScope microscope (very good choice if you are looking for one) and they were awful. The slides are filthy, and they have several tiny nicks in them. I saw what looked like small fibrous structures, sort of fungus like. I am a botany major and I thought I was seeing some kind of fungus infected plant, but also noticed the structures on my control slide. The slides are also stuck together, and are quite difficult to pull apart without nicking the slides further. The cover slips were decent, though they are a bit hard to remove because they are wrapped in tissue. Just remove the tissue and replace the slips in the box. Also worth mentioning was that the slides were very rough around the edges and the corners are VERY pointy. Be careful. I probably will look for another brand in the future for actual laboratory use, but these will suffice for my home lab.

As microscope slides and coverslips go, they do what they should. I use them for hobby microscopy.

The edges and corners are not finished very well, but they are not sharp either (no cuts yet).

Don't expect them to be squeaky clean at this price - they have a little paper lint, and something a bit tacky, on the surfaces - a good rub with a little alcohol on a Kimwipe or microfiber is needed before using.

The little plastic container that holds the coverslips isn't quite deep enough, so watch out when you first open it, or the top 10 or so will fall right on the floor. It's kinda hard to get apart, so be careful.

One might wish they'd make the coverslips really .17mm like microscope objective lenses are designed for (not some wide range like .12-.17), but at least they cost a lot less than lab-grade slides.

Will likely order same brand again when needed.

I am very happy about the order so far I bought this product for my anatomy and physiology lab. I have not used or tested the slides under a microscope yes I will tomorrow and then I will update my review. So far no pieces have been broken and they appear clean and clear

These suckers are pretty good. The square glass covers are very thin & can be a potential hazard if dropped on the floor but I think that's the nature of these things. The slides themselves do not have grounded edges but that's ok.
Next time I'll be ordering the welled slides for natural fiber samples even though they're incredibly expensive.

I've bought two boxes of these slides along with the cover slips. At first, I ASSUMED that they were all clean and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my microscope. Later I realized that there's dirt of something on both the slides and cover slips. Washing with dish soap doesn't help, but cleaning with alcohol works pretty well--I still don't get the pristine slides and cover slips I expected.

So cool! Makes my kids feel like real scientists. I just recently bought my daughter a microscope for her birthday. I got her pipettes to go with the slides and we like to go down to the pond next to our house and collect water from it. Then we put a drop of water onto a slide, put the cover sheet over it and look to see what's in it under the microscope. It's amazing all the cool stuff you can see floating/swimming around! My kids have had a blast.

Pretty good quality for the most part and the price is right. One broken slide on arrival, but no big deal to me.

No chance for a comparison but reviews were very good.. Gave to my smart 7 yr old ... He gave it some attention but not much. But then after a time my 7 yr old started to use it and I expect will use it more. Right now he's looking at a spider and excited. Should get more use as he gets older. Device is well made and works well for an inexpensive microscope. Consider it a long term gift which will get use from time to time. Good enough for me. So save your spiders. :-)
