This is a 12v projector with an internal battery, but the battery only lasts a little more than an hour, not long enough for a full movie.
I bought this USB to 12v dc adapter to power the projector rather than using the wall plug.
My expectation was that either it would not provide enough amps, or just enough to more slowly drain the projector battery so maybe I could get 90 or 120 minutes out of the projector battery.
To my surprise, this usb adapter not only provided enough energy to power the projector, it also topped off the internal battery charge! Far exceeds my expectations!
I put a USB voltage checker on the input, it was taking between 1.75-1.95A of 5.06V from my usb external battery (the kind you use to charge a phone)
This will make my projector so much more used, as I use it outside on camping and boating trips.
A note calling this out was added to the Amazon description after my purchase.
I don't know what most folks would use these for, but I wanted a couple to test for powering (bass) guitar effects pedals so I wouldn't have to haul cords around and try to find extra AC outlets.
The voltage is accurate on these but they are the wrong polarity for effects pedals. It's simple enough to cut the cord reverse the wires, and solder back up with shrink tube insulation. You can't even tell. Plus I removed most of the length of cable at the same time, as the most I would need would be 6-8". I also soldered 2 additional plugs on in a "Y" configuration so I power 3 pedals from each one of these. Could have powered 4 or 5 or more (depends on power draw of the particular effect) but I wanted to draw no more than 50% of rated current. 2 of these cables, modified like this and plugged in to an Anker battery pack USB phone charger, which is zip tied under my pedal board, easily powers my entire effects board (of small 9v TIP NEG) pedals and still leave an unused USB port on the power bank for my phone or tablet, or gooseneck usb console light. I can go 2 solid 4 hour performances and still not kill the Anker battery pack. It DOES however take at least a day and a half to recharge the battery bank.
*In conclusion, I think they would have a good thing going for the price, by simply 1) reversing the polarity and 2) package with a 3 way splitter or daisy chain with 5.5mm plugs in a tip negative polarity. Oh, and 3 rubber caps to insulate any unused plugs!
Edit: since I wrote this, I added another, and powered a newly acquired SpectraDrive and my old Line 6 wireless. Seems solid, but I'd feel better with 4 instead of 3.

Will your device work? Maybe. 12V often suggests more power. If you have a small power brick it may not be able to produce the power you need for your device. You may want to consider a power brick that can produce 2 or more amps (2A). There's some math to figuring out how much power you need, but a good 2A power brick will work for many things. There's no free lunch here, 12V devices usually want more power, a tiny power brick won't do that.
So, if you have a good strong power brick, this thing will definitely do the trick. It gets a bit warm but has not failed me.
A power brick will usually just shut off to protect itself from burning up (a good thing). You'll know if you're using more power than you have if your power brick shuts off every time you plug this in.
However I just get flashing monitor boot screen.
Without this step up cable, the lithium ion battery can output 5V/3A, 9V/2A and 12V 1.5A. So I'm disappointed here. At 20,000mAh this is the beefiest pocket battery I've seen.
I tried plugging into my desktop computer's USB 3 port and still got flashing. If this is user error, please advise. Otherwise I'll assume its the cable not being able to provide advertised power.
