I'm hoping the shelves will hold my CDs... that's how bad the quality of this cabinet is. Definitely NOT WORTH THE COST!!! I wish it was made like the one I already had :(. I wonder what happened to the quality of the production of these cabinets in the last few years. Sad...
UPDATE--Once I filled the cabinet with all of my CDs (which does not completely fill the cabinet), the doors won't close. I'm not sure if the magnets are bad or the CDs are too deep for the doors. I will be inquiring about how to send this piece of junk back for a refund.
That was 15 months ago. Things have changed.
It's still gorgeous. It's still holding everything I put in in (about half a shelf remains unfilled). Technically it's still upright...but it looks like it won't be that way much longer. All of the screws holding both of the doors to their respective hinges are starting to pull out of the thin wood. Both doors now sag visibly, nearly touching each other at the top when they are closed. The attached picture shows just one of these hinges, but they all look roughly the same. It's only a matter of time before I try to open a door and it falls off instead. They already crack and creak alarmingly. There's no attractive way to fix the problem either: once those screws tear out, they're going to leave an awful set of holes.
I had planned on buying another one when I filled this one up, but if this one couldn't handle <100% capacity, why waste $200 on another one? Very disappointing.
After careful removal of the unit, I started my inspection. Hmmm. Lots of weird black screws in the back all up the joints. It's really shakey. Hmm. Oh look, the bottom laminate is separating from the top. Went to use the knob to open the cabinet and it came off in my hand. Whoever had drilled this used a larger drill bit than necessary and made it absolutely useless.
The large shelf pieces are actually wider than the unit. So, without shaving, it would cause terrible strain on the inside of the box. I'm afraid it is going to fall apart. The door shelves are around 1/4" inch too short for the doors. The holes for the shelf pegs on one side of the door were drilled with the proper bit, the other, way too small. I can't get them in. Going to have to redrill.
All in all, I have about a day worth of work (including dry time for the glue I have to use.)
Honestly, I don't see how anyone could recommend this to anyone. What a piece of junk.
I feel like maybe someone may have had this and tried to do some repairs to it and then sent it back to amazon without telling them. If that's the case, I feel really bad for that person.
However, soon after I filled this A-V cabinet with DVDs and CDs, the much too-small, totally inadequate hinge screws started pulling-out of the wood and the doors started sagging badly. Those tiny screws were only approx 3/8 in long, which is much too small to secure and hold such large and heavily loaded doors! So I immediately changed those tiny screws with 1-in long screws to stop the hinge pull-out and door sagging. But shortly after I replaced those tiny hinge screws with larger screws, the wood sides began to crack under the loading of those doors! See the provided photo.
The Seller claims that this cabinet is constructed of solid oak wood, but there's no way such a fragile wood that cracked so easily under load could be oak, which is typically a very strong wood. Unless there's some kind of soft,"balsa oak" in China!
So Buyer beware... The design is attractive and the Seller is Customer-focused, but the product is of very poor quality and will not last very long before you suffer hinge screw pull-out, wood cracking and door sagging!

The cabinet arrived more or less fully assembled, missing a couple of screws. It was clear once the packaging was removed that I had wasted my money. The "hardwood" cabinet has a "Made in China" sticker proudly displayed on the back and after examining the cabinet, the sticker is well deserved. It is abundantly clear that absolutely no craftsmanship went into the construction of this cabinet.
One of the doors was clearly constructed using a warped piece of wood. The shelves inside are broken. The wood is split almost everywhere a screw has been used.
It has become abundantly clear that Amazon does not hold their third party sellers to same standards they themselves adhere to. Moving forward all future purchases will have to be Amazon only.
To anyone considering ordering from this specific third party seller, I would recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
