Editorial Reviews

From the Author

It took me a year to completely empty the mental clutter inside my brain.  Writing this book required me to let go of all my ego and emotions in order to dedicate my time to publish this book.  The passing of my mother in January 2017 was to main trigger to a series of events that lead me to eventually seek complete solitude from the secular world to focus on my inner mind.  I was ordained as a Buddhist Monk in the largest temple in Thailand, Dhammakaya Temple - with no access from friends, phone, internet and books.  For 45 days, I experienced a life of simplicity, which was painfully difficult to unlearn, and forced myself to declutter every thought, assumption, judgement inside of me.  This book is NOT about monkhood, or buddhism.  It is the outcome from the insights that surfaced when the "muddy water cleared up" inside of me - allowing me to look clearly at life, business, social, people and spiritualism completely differently. I could not change completely unless I completely empty myself first.

From the Inside Flap

Monk Matt was settling down as he noticed several people approaching from different directions.  A gentleman in a navy blue business suit and yellow tie holding a bottle of wine in one hand a small basket in the other.  A young man with headful of curly hair wearing a hooded sweat shirt with "Pink Floyd" printed across the front.  A bearded man in a brown leather jacket scrambling behind the young man, heading his way with an ice cream cone in one hand and a bunch of napkins in the other, a pen in his mouth, and a knapsack on his right shoulder.
Monk Matt decided to wait for the men to approach before he started his lunch.  Theresa laid three small mats on the grass for the visitors.  She sat on another mat in a cross-legged position.....
Monk watch with amusement as the four people, who were strangers only 45 minutes ago, engaged each other in philosophical discussions that only best friends would do.  He thought that this meeting was not accidental and there was a cosmic reason for this encounter.  He believed that the purpose would unveil itself in the future paths ahead.
Monk waited for a lull in the conversation and said, "Now it's time for Monk to ask you a question.  Are yo content and happy with you lives?"
- An Extract from A CEO, An Entrepreneur, A Tourist and the Monk
