I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Previously published as Hired Heart in the multi-author Indulgences Series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Max is all business, on the phone. Sam tells him that all phones, laptops and watches have to be taken to the office, so he can relax. After talking with Aunt Cappy, the equipment disappears over night and she gets some womanly advice that she needs.
CEO Scrooge, written by Elizabeth Rose, has comedy and romance intertwined as only Elizabeth Rose can write it. Add some of the Sweetwater boys and Aunt Cappy and you have it all. I was given this book as an ARC copy and I was very glad to read and write this review.
Samantha, has been in love with her boss for the past five years but he such a workaholic and determined never to date anyone in his employ again because it never works out well. She has booked a trip for herself and her workaholic boss as guests for the week at the Indulgences Resort off the coast of Panama. Max thinks it’s a one day trip to check on his latest eco-friendly villa construction project. He had no intentions to be there for Christmas. On the other hand, Sam was surprised to see aunt Cappy, her husband and some of the Sweetwater boys there. Aunt Cappy gives her some womanly advice, and on this fantasy island where Sam has booked a single room with one bed, no cell phones, laptops or watches are allowed. Max is not happy with the room accommodations but Sam tells him that it’s the only thing available. Can she get him to relax and take notice of her?
I always been fond of the Scrooge adaptation and the author does it beautifully with fun, comedy and romance. The characters were delightful, both main and secondary. The dialogue was wonderful and this sweet story is packed with mystery, comedy and romance.
Thank you so much Ms. Rose for this charming story! I look forward to reading the entire series.
I read it before in the anthology.
A good story that has the secretary of the CEO determined to make sure her boss doesn't spend his Christmas holidays sitting alone in his office.
She finds a retreat like the show Fantasy Island and cons him into going to the island.
Don't miss this jaunt to a wonderful island romp.
So she decides to take matters into her own hands and books them a Christmas vacation together.
Sam tells Max that it is a business trip for him to check on his properties.
Will Max finally let down his wall and let her into his heart.
