The dealer made a fun little show of showing off how everything under the hood was so 'clean' on this car - the air filter, the oil, everything else - but then I showed them the cabin air filter. It was disgusting. I bought this, and the interior smell improved significantly.
After buying this, I saw the "ATP Carbon Activated Premium Cabin Air Filter" (https://www.amazon.com/ATP-FA-5-Carbon-Activated-Premium/dp/B000C8P9LK/) for only a bit more, so I bought some of them, figuring that they would work even better. Unfortunately, I found out that while they're both built just as sturdily and the ATP filter appeared to perhaps be a slightly better filter, it seemed to work no better in terms of smell - and I think it's because the filter didn't really fit into the slot, so it allows some blowby. These FRAM filters fit my slot snugly and filter the air very well, and they're very well priced. I'll definitely be sticking with them in the future. (Photo 1 is the FRAM, with the seal around the bottom, where it can fit snugly in the slot - photo 2 is the ATP, which has the seal at the top, which doesn't even fit into the slot (only resting on top) and thus doesn't create any sort of seal)
