Amazon and the sellers have been very good about returns for the defective units.
However... These are VASTLY superior to any of the $40 Chinese made fog machines like you buy at party city, etc. They literally put out 10 times the amount of smoke. On the low setting. On a calm day/night, you can make enough smoke to make walking difficult. With 2 of them, inside of half an hour you can have about an acre of haze. The other, lower class units - 1000 watts and under say they produce about 5,000 CFM, they don’t do anywhere near that. These advertise 20,000 CFM and I think that’s conservative.
This blows fog. Lots and lots of thick fog.
I use these for Halloween, and with the cheapo foggers I had before, I was able to turn half my block into pea soup.
Two of these, well, even the peas were having trouble.
My old fog chillers, however, weren't enough for these guys. Most of the fog flew up and away, as it will when it stays hot.
New fog chillers are in order, most likely from plastic 55 gallon barrels.
If you need way too much fog, these are for you!
Overall, I've used this machine about 12 or 13 times; but, it is now so unreliable that I'll probably have to replace it. I contacted Chauvet and all they could say is that they'd probably charge me more to repair it than it would cost to replace it.
Overall, I can't recommend buying one.
One note of advice, be sure to follow the instructions on cleaning it out before you store it away otherwise you will shorten the life of this or any fogger. I also recommend Freezin Fog Outdoor Low Lying Ground Fog Juice Machine Fluid - Gallon for use in the fogger or even Code 6.
My original thought process when purchasing the 1000 watt machines was that it was close to the 1300 in wattage and I could get 2 (or 2000 watts) for the a little more than the single Chaucer 1300. Let's just say, I see the error of that logic. There is just no comparison.
