I ordered this board and it arrived three days early. The Stabs were a bit rough but after about an hour of tuning and clipping and such they are literally perfect I wont be replacing them. The keycaps are great thickness and sound good. (dye-sub PBT) The body is only held together by some clips so i did a little foam and some band aids on some common surfaces and it was a night and day difference in sound and tightness. The board sounds great out of the box and even better after you use it some and lube it up and tune it. Just takes a little time and an acquired taste.

The plastic PCB stands were broken just like another reviewer pointed out. The plastic case feels cheap. The price feels a little steep. The keycaps feel great and these cherry mx black switches ain’t bad either. The stabilizer rattle is fixable except on the space bar which I’ll get over I hope. Ultimately I got this bad boy for work and I’m pretty jazzed about it. None of the downsides are deal breakers.

this keyboard has an ANSI-1800 style layout. [NON-ISO] comes with stiff 60gram actuation Cherry MX black switches [not lubed] and you will notice that they are not lubed if you lube switches.
The stabilizers were cherry I believe but cannot 100% confirm. I lubed the stabilizers with 205 grade0 and the stabilizers feel a lot smoother & do not have as much ping. I also put just a little bit of foam from KBDfans under the PCB inside the case to dampen the ping when typing.
Lastly, if you buy one hold on to it as long as possible as you can sell it in 5-15 years and someone will buy it or you can salvage the PCB for the switches.
Edit: 2 weeks later the switches feel a lot better. I use it A LOT at work as a daily driver and not for home/gaming, but did use it for gaming one weekend and it works great.
Edit2: Months later great board. changed rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Decent buy for an uncommon layout.

Box didn't come sealed but everything was fine. One reviewer complained that there are no homing keys (at f and j) but there actually are. The profile of these homing keys has a deeper concave than the rest of the keys. It's just something a little different. But it's something that you can feel when typing.

This model does come with the ansi layout. Keycaps feel to be doubleshot abs. You will feel the doubleshot on these keycaps. Also the 5 key comes with the euro symbol.

Cherry also does say on their site that this keyboard is programmable. But this is with software. This keyboard isn't hardware programmable.

Overall decent board. Not overly great in quality but the layout is very nice. These black switches are also smooth.

Got this keyboard to scratch an itch while I wait for groupbuys(iykyk).
And honestly, not a bad board for $130CAD, everything works out of the box. You get genuine new stock cherry mx blacks, which are a bit heavier if you're not used to them, and are not the smoothest switches out there, but they sound amazing if you don't mind a bit of spring ping.

Also comes with genuine cherry stabilizers which are pretty bad stock, but a few quick mods can make them fantastic. Could potentially upgrade them if you really wanted to with screw ins.

The case is big hollow plastic. It sounds like a cardboard cathedral and the choir boys are the metallic pinging of springs. again, a little modding and that becomes a non issue.

The keycaps are thin printed abs, they work.

Can definitely game on them, but you might get fatigued as MX blacks are on the heavier end of switches (80g bottom out).

That's it with this keyboard. It works. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard for the office or the home that is just a working keyboard, this is it. No bells and whistles, but can probably be handed down to your grand kids.

Ich bin Programmierer und habe ein gutes und exaktes Schreibgerät gesucht. Ich hatte jahrelang nur billigste Rubberdome Tastaturen verwendet. Dann kam irgendwann der Hype um mechanische Tastaturen und auch ich beschäftigte mich damit. Ich hatte diverse mechanischen Tastaturen ausprobiert und leider auch gekauft, aber ich bin letztendlich bei dieser hier hängengeblieben.

Diese Cherry Tastatur hat MX Black Schalter. Das bedeutet, dass diese nicht "klicken" wie die Blauen. Ich kann aber nur empfehlen die schwarzen Schalter zu probieren. Die kann man kontrolliert und linear nach unten drücken. Ich hatte noch keine Tastatur, auf der ich einfach blind und sofort fehlerfrei tippen konnte. Mit dieser hier geht es. Die erste Erfahrung nach so vielen anderen mechanischen Tastaturen war wirklich berauschend. Noch nie fühlte sich eine Taste so gut an wie hier.

Sicherlich ist das Layout gewöhnungsbedürftig. Aber die Position der Pfeiltesten hatte sich bei mir nach kurzer Zeit als sehr angenehm herausgestellt. In bestimmten Situationen bediene ich die Pfeiltasten sogar mit dem kleinen Finger.

Die Tastenkappen sind im Vergleich zu anderen Herstellern angenehm flach. Bei fast allen anderen mechanischen Tastaturen sind die Tasten sehr hoch, was für mich den Komfort mindert.

Die Tastatur hat Aufstellbeine, die den Namen auch wirklich noch verdienen. Die Tastatur ist von sich aus schon recht "hoch" angestellt, aber mit den Füßen kann man es nochmals deutlich erhöhen. Für mich ist das eine gute Sache, da ich es schrecklich finde auf komplett flach liegenden Tastaturen zu tippen.

Ein Rezensent hatte hier die Tastatur sehr schlecht bewertet, weil das Gehäuse eine schlechte Qualität aufweisen soll. Da hat er natürlich vollkommen Recht. Das Gehäuse ist nichts Besonderes und tatsächlich vollkommen hohl. Ich hatte die Tastatur schon geöffnet und es befindet sich wirklich nichts im Innern der Tastatur. Nur die "Platine" mit den Schaltern und der Controller (etwa doppelt so groß wie bei herkömmlichen Rubberdome Tastaturen). Auch knarzt das Gehäuse, wenn man daran rumdrückt. Und ja, die Tastatur ist nicht mehr "Made in Germany".

Aber das macht die Tastatur als Schreibgerät nicht schlechter. Die Tastatur steht auf meinem Tisch; ich drücke da nicht dran herum. Beim Tippen stört das "günstige" Gehäuse also nicht. Und man muss dazu sagen, dass das Gehäuse für ein Plastikgehäuse immer noch recht dick ist. Das ist mittlerweile auch nicht mehr üblich. Es ist nun mal kein geschraubtes Gehäuse, sondern geklippt.

Früher waren die Gehäuse von Cherry besser; das gebe ich zu. Ich habe noch eine alte Rubberdome Tastatur von Cherry (noch ohne Windows-Taste und mit Din-Anschluss). Die wiegt mehr und fühlt sich hochwertiger an und war auch noch "Made in Germany", aber hey, so ist das eben.

Und man muss beachten, dass diese Tastatur einen günstigen Preis hat. Es mag teuer wirken, aber im Bereich der mechanischen Tastaturen ist das nicht teuer. Wenn behauptet wird, dass man für das Geld woanders eine bessere Tastatur bekommt, so ist das nicht unbedingt wahr. Ich hatte schon so viele mechanischen Tastaturen. Sie waren alle teurer und hatten alle irgendwie eine Macke. Sicher bekommt man für das Geld eine beleuchtete mechanische Tastatur, aber das macht sie für mich persönlich nicht besser. Ich lege auf RGB Beleuchtung und so Spielereien keinen Wert. Sicherlich bekommt man auch mechanische Tastaturen für weniger Geld, dann aber meistens mit irgendwelchen chinesischen Nachbauten von MX-Schaltern. Auch sowas hatte ich schon; ich kann davon nur abraten. Nach längerer Benutzung findet man immer irgendeinen Fehler (sei es in irgendeinem Schalter oder in dem Controller).

Diese Tastatur hier von Cherry funktioniert einfach nur.

Und ich gebe noch einen wertvollen Tipp für Geizhälse: die G80-1800 wurde oft an Kassen verwendet. Man findet sie gebraucht bei Ebay für ca. 8 Eur + Versand :). Ich hatte mir so eine Gammeltastatur für die Arbeit gekauft. Man bekommt eine völlig verdreckte Tastatur. Man sollte sie dann natürlich reinigen. Alle Kappen abziehen, ab in die Spüle mit viel Spüli, am besten das Gehäuse öffnen und den ganzen Dreck von der "Platine" entfernen. Das ist schon bei der eigenen Tastatur ekelig, aber bei fremden noch viel heftiger...ich habs getan...bei der Gelegenheit habe ich auch das Gehäuse direkt giftgrün lackiert :D...hat sich gelohnt, wobei...na das muss jeder selber wissen :). Die Tastenkappen waren natürlich teilweise etwas abgenutzt (dunkler als andere); damit muss man eben leben. Die Schalter aber funktionieren wie bei meiner "neuen".

Ich hoffe meine kleine Geschichte konnte weiterhelfen bei der Entscheidung das Produkt zu kaufen oder nicht.

....allerdings gibt es zwei Punkte, die mich zum Überlegen gebracht haben, sie wieder zurückzuschicken: Letztlich habe ich es nicht getan.
1. Die Tasten klackern doch recht laut. Mich stört es nicht, weil es prinzipbedingt bei dieser Tastatur nicht anders geht. Aber das trifft bestimmt nicht immer zu.
2. Die Anordnung der Tasten auf der rechten Seite entspricht nicht dem Standard. Das hat mir angangs große Mühen bereitet, weil die FInger nicht mehr blind die Tasten fanden; auch jetzt habe ich noch ab und zu Schwierigkeiten bzw. vertippe mich. Die Einfügen- und Entfernen-Taste sind dafür zweimal vorhanden, was mir aber nicht wirklich hilft.
Ich habe die Tastatur im übrigen auch deshalb gewählt, weil sie hell ist. Auch wenn die Ergonomie angeblich mit einer schwarzen Tastatur besser sein soll, für mich gilt das definitiv nicht. Da gefühlt 90% aller angebotenen Tastaturen schwarz sind, war die Suche nach einer passenden ziemlich aufwendig.
