Original: "I had the original size CHI and it was always a great product for me, so I thought I would try the 1/2 CHI. First, it is easy to use, as far as size, and to get into smaller areas, like bangs, but the thing is way too small for anything but short hair. I have shoulder length hair, and two issues. One, it takes forever to use this because you have to only do small amounts of hair, but two, the biggest problem is that because it has a temp gauge on it, it does not stay hot enough for me, so I can't get that flat, straight look--more like fuzz. I'm really disappointed. Stick with the original size if you have longer hair. For me it should get a one star for the price, but others seem to like it."
New: "Now that I've used this for a month or so, I am going to give it a higher review. It works well if you pin and parcel your hair, then you can get into the root area. I think that that is how it is supposed to be used and not clamped down on a load of hair. I find it a great product for getting close to particular areas and working in pieces and I think if you have shorter hair, it would be really great. But, to me, it's not good for longer hair that you're not willing to parcel in pieces."
I use this flat iron to give my flat fine hair volume. An added benefit is that my hair looks vibrant and shines like crazy when I use this.
I normally where my hair shoulder length in a blunt cut, but recently went a little shorter. This Chi is perfect for short hair and definitely easier to use on short hair. This iron heats rapidly and maintains a steady temperature to produce quick and consistent results.
The ceramic pads prevent hair from burning and frizzing. I have detected no hair damage after using the Chi fir over six months now.
This is a convenient and versatile flat iron that does wonders on short and/or flat hair.

Great item, heats up quickly, red light on indicator does not stay on, and no auto off if you forget to turn off.Published 6 months ago by D. Triche
little hard to use at first because I was not used to having a flat iron so skinny. I have got used to using it now and I like it.Published 9 months ago by stacy blair
The best flat iron I've purchased. Works really well for short hair. A friend with longer thicker hair used it and loved it also.Published 11 months ago by A. Mason
Wasn't overly impressed with this flat iron. I have a smaller travel size (different brand) flat iron that I have used for a number of years that does a better job of straightening... Read morePublished 14 months ago by Iris J Goins
