About the Author
All things beautiful are my passion. I enjoy anything that a masterful hand creates. Writing is one of those and cooking is another. They both captured my interest and imagination at a very young age.
The "Mama's Legacy Series" was a pleasure to create because it allowed me to tap into my interests and to publish cookbooks that my audience can use and enjoy time and time again.
I began my love affair with cooking when I was very young. As soon as I could reach the counter top my mother gave me free reign in the kitchen. I was allowed to mix and mix and mix, building my masterpieces. They were nothing more that wild combinations of flour, sugar, spices and water; but, to me it was creating at its best. When I finished with each endeavor, I tossed it all and happily cleaned up the kitchen, looking forward to the next time. My creative spirit in the kitchen had taken root.
My first adventure in writing came my senior year in high school when I decided to take a writing correspondence course, which was very forward looking for the time. I experienced the first thrill of putting pen to paper, and all these years later it is still one of the most pleasurable activities in my life.
If I had my druthers, I would write all the time. In fact, that is pretty much what I do because I have reached a point in my life where it is now possible.
All my work is non-fiction. Even though I love fiction and read it voraciously, it has never been my focus and there are others who do it so much better than I. My choice has always been and will continue to be to write about topics that interest and intrigue me and to share what I discover with my readers.

I was hungry before I started reading and ended up Starving.
Pictures of the prepared recipes would make you hungry if you weren't!
Except for the whole baked Chicken, most of the recipes can be made in less than an hour so they are perfect for the working Mother on a time budget.
Even though a few of the recipes are classic French, most of the ingredients called for are things that I normally stock in my kitchen, so not a lot of hunting for the exotic.
There are several Spicy offerings: BBQ, one with halapeno peppers and corn, then a nice Louisianan Chicken and Sausage dish.
Most recipes include vegetables and rice or different types of noodles so it makes for easy cooking and meal planning. Some broccoli, asparagus or fresh green beans on the side and you are done.
Already called a friend who is on a restrictive diet and eats loads of chicken so she will appreciate this book.
It makes me happy to know that I have a resource I can go to to make great dinners that taste good, are inviting to friends, and make me look good. Well written, you can tell this author has created a legacy in her kitchen. I am so glad she shared it with us. She's very specific, with her directions, so even an inexperienced cook can be a success. I love the nutrition facts chart that comes with each recipe.
As a good ole southern girl, I loved seeing the Chicken and Dumplings recipe. My mama was not a good cook. She told the story of how when she attempted her first chicken and rice meal, my Dad came home, took the whole pot and dumped it in the yard. That was hard on a newlywed girl who couldn't cook.
You definitely won't have to worry about having a hubby throwing your food in the garbage with these recipes. And if he does, you send him to me, I'll thow him in the yard. :)
My sister's just 14, but she has already displayed interest in the art of cooking. She usually hangs out with my mom in the kitchen to get tips and learn family recipes. When she turned 14, she told me that she wanted to buy a cookbook and that she wanted to prepare a meal from it for me and my wife.
Her first chicken dinner was Chicken Parmigiana. She asked me to watch over her during her cooking (because I cook most of the main courses in my house) and I was surprised to see that she needed hardly any help from me.
If my 14-year-old sister can whip up a chicken dinner, so can you. The recipes in "Chicken - 25 Classic Dinners (Mama's Legacy Series)" are very practical and easy to follow.
