2) Uses standard micro-usb plug for power (which I have a ton of).
3) Lay my phone on this before bed and wake up to a fully charged phone.
1) Did not come with an a/c adapter (didnt bother me because i have spares, but not everyone does).
2) The blue LED is very bright and flashes when the unit is charging. Because I have mine beside my bed it gets very annoying because it lights up the entire room. A piece of black electrical tape over it fixed that issue.
3) When installed in a galaxy note 3, it creates a slight buldge in the battery door. It is barely visible, but enough that it makes the phone not lay flat on a table top (it will "wobble" while trying to type on it without holding it).
4) (probably the biggest con, but still minor) For use with the galaxy note 3, the phone is about 2x the size of this pad. You have to lay the phone down to where the adapter is close to centered over the pad for it to start charging, noting that the adapter is not in the center of the phone.
Overall its good for the price. I didn't trust this technology and wanted to try it out, but now that I know it works, I would like to upgrade to one of the bigger pads to put beside my bed where I wont have to worry so much about laying the phone down just right to initiate a charge if I pick it up and set it down in the middle of the night, and will probably take this pad into work and leave it on my desk.
I have decided to test this out some more. I have the following to report.
1- It will charge the Note 3 at a rate of about 780mah with a max output of 958mah at one point battery was at 64% (and only one time... others have been at max of 807mah or so. Battery temp was at a max of 44.5*C but the average is about 38.5*C with the battery level around 60%. Millivolts at around 4000mv
2- The phone has to be placed on the pad precisely or your phone will cycle as the magnetic receiver is not large enough to cover the charging area on the pad or, the pad has a small inductive area in which the receiver will mate with the base pad to give you a charge. This can be annoying as you have to watch and wait to make sure you're getting charged before either closing your eyes or walking away.
3- To provide you with a real time charge cycle....
Starting charge time: 02:36:12 Bat at 69% 958mah
Ending charge time: 04:16:34 Bat at 100% 369mah and 10 mins later down to 20mah for a trickle charge.
So as you can see, it will give you a rather nice charge but its limitations are, as the manufacturer pointed out to me, the phone hardware itself. You will never get the full 1800mah to 1900mah rate you get with the direct connection from your 2amp charger that the Samsung charger will put out connected directly to the phone. You'll get about 48% of the rate. Still a rather quick rate but only for overnight charging in my case. I don't have time to wait that long during the day as I am a heavy user.
Inside the package is the CHOETECH Qi Inductive Wireless Charging Pad, 1 wireless charging receiver, 1 diagram, of installation of Qi receiver, 1 Micro USB charging cord (around 3 ft. in length), 1 instruction manual and a 1 year warranty. It does not come with its own standard electrical outlet plug. But anyone that you have for a phone will work.
Setup is simple. Take the back off of your phone. Take the backing off of the Qi Charging receiver pad. Line it up to the charge pins and place the cover back on. RECOMMENDATION: (Fully charge the CHOETECH Qi Wireless Pad to full, before first time use.) Plug the cord into an electrical outlet and then attach the micro USB cord to the pad and then power it up. Place the phone on the Pad and let the charging begin.
The charging pad was smaller than both of the devices I tested this on. I tested this is with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.Both worked without issue and with multiple cases utilized. It charged the Note 3 and Note 4 at an average rate of about 700mAh, with a max output of 970mAh. Battery temp was averaging around 39. °C, the max temperature was 46. °C. Lay the phone vertically or horizontally on the pad, trying to leave it centered over the receiver. This will ensure max charging and a lot less heat. It has rubber pads on the bottom to keep it in place.
The one thing I noticed in a lot of these comments was the complaint of the “bulging battery cover”, after installation of the Qi receiver.Read more ›

The receiver works great.... but one problem it barely works with the included charger. I have yet to figure out the mythical spot to actually charge the battery consistently. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Foster Dale
