At $5 dollars, you can't beat the price.
The handles are non-slip rubber/plastic without being to sticky, doesn't attract dust or dirt.
The handles protect your palm when cutting, softening the feel when applying cutting pressure.
The blades are hard metal, and after a month show no nicking or bending. (see picture)
The blades are at enough of an angle to get close when cutting without blocking your view.
Warnings on handles reminds you to ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION and CUT WIRE MAX THICKNESS 1.3 mm
Spring back handles feel firm and just right for repeated cuts.
Only for use on small, soft wires.
** Not designed for heavy duty or home electrical wiring.
I have seen some review stating the blades are uneven when handles are squeezed together (seems rare)
Despite the tip breaking off, everything else is nicely made, and build quality looks pretty solid (everything but the tip of the cutter)
It still gets a 1 star because one wouldn't buy this because it is nicely made, but rather the usability of the product.
Nevertheless, it worked!!! My horseshoe septum piercing was stuck. I couldn’t get either ball loosened at home. Two piercers at the local tattoo shop were also unsuccessful in removing it. We discussed options and he reluctantly mentioned wire cutters. I knew amazon would have a rock bottom price for a good pair. THESE WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Scared the pants off me when it cut through the 14g horseshoe hut that was doe to my fragile nerves and images OFM me cutting my nose off. All is well and I’m on to a new septum ring that looks great!!
I highly recommend these cutters!!
And then the replacement pair came and the Jaws were not aligned from the start as you can see from picture .... They are crap I'm afraid.
Time to go find something new I guess.... Unless someone has a compelling reason to go for pair #3
On the last ones I ordered, the hinged is slightly loose, and the jaws don't line up properly (which kind of defeats the purpose of a flush cutter if you ask me). Amazon sent a replacement, and it had the same problems. 2 of the pictures are my old ones purchased ~11mo ago and used (not abused) consistently since. I'd say which 2, but Amazon reorders them. Anyways, you can probably guess which are the new ones.
