On the other side of the token, after approximately half a year of use, two lights out of four I bought have decided to give me trouble. From time to time, approximately once every two months these two lights decide not to work anymore. When I open them up and test the battery they are obviously with no charge. In order to get them working again, I need to take the batteries out and charge them separately and have them installed again. Once I do this, the lights start working again. It looks like the circuit that prevents the batteries from overcharging, once activated, it stops charging and freezes causing the batteries not to charge any more; even when batteries are no longer 100% state of charge. This has happened to me twice already and by doing this procedure, I have be able to put them back in service. The fact that these lights are so easy to take them out from the base and have them installed again, it has not bothered me that much to go through this procedure. I still take them down for cleaning once a month.
These lights are fantastic...... I have bought several other models lately trying to get an all night unit that simply works. These cast a light all night long in dim setting which is perfect for lighting the yard so my small pup is seen. When walking by, he triggers full light and it comes alive
Look no further. I'm a research junkie on everything I buy online now, I'm considering buying more. These actually are so good I really don't need to.
I have tried many other led solar products as I'm kind of a led&solar junky. I have found very few products in this category that truly meet my expectations(To dim, does not last all night and so on). This is only the 2nd that truly works as or better then I wanted. It has just the right amount of light in dim mode to light the place up without being annoying, and bright mode again is just the right amount to light it up detail in the dark without being so bright it messes with your vision.
Installation was easy, I ended up mounting them to the top side lip of my gutter over my front walk, and its perfect, just want I wanted to help light up the front of the house without having to keep the outside lights on all night.
These fixtures address my need perfectly. I wasn't sure how well the motion sensors would pick up someone coming directly under them from inside. I ended up installing one directly over my door, and the other one off to the side attached to the top of my wooden privacy fence. Both lights kick on right away and put out plenty of light to see the immediate area and allow me to put stuff out to the trash, or roll the cans out through the gate in the fence.
After 30s, they kick down into low brightness mode. My side door faces south, so the panels get plenty of sunlight each day. After a couple of weeks, both are still working well.
Installation was straightforward. Each has a bracket that is held on to the wood by two screws. The fixture then slides into place via a pair of slots. It's a solid connection and has held up to some pretty decent wind storms that have come through so far.
