CJ Hernley has spent over half her life in the wilds of Alaska. She is an adventurer and story teller writing true life nonfiction. When she's not playing with bears, she is backpacking, river rafting, jumping off mountaintops, or looking for the next possibility for a thrill.
She has owned a very successful salmon set gill netting business in Dillingham, Alaska, harvested spawn on kelp in Togiak, and participated in the King Crab fishery out of Dutch Harbor. In later years she has worked as a hatchery technician for the Dept. of Fish and Game and as an Interpreter for the US Forest Service, just to name a few of her occupations. Everything about CJ is wild and wooly. She is an authentic bush Alaskan to the core.
