About CL Rowell
I am a southern girl, born and raised in the southern US, in crawfish country. I love to write romance - and read science fiction and fantasy, horror, romance and erotic romance. I'm a bit of a poet, but mostly when I'm feeling emotional. My friends tend to come to me when they need poems. I've been all over the continental US. My fave state? Oregon, because it has it all - beaches, ocean, mountains, caves, valleys, desert. I've been to Canada. I'd love to visit the UK, too, one day. I've driven an 18 wheeler...I'm 5'1", lol. I wanted to be a race car driver, but my first love is reading/telling stories. Why? Because between the covers of a book, you can go anywhere, be anything, and do whatever you like...all in the span of a few hours.

I haven't dated anyone since I lost my wife ten years ago. Even if I did, I don’t date rich chicks—ever. Katie Bruce, as in Bruce Yachts, Bruce Oil, Bruce Golf. Everyone with half a brain knows who they are. I told myself to keep my distance but all it took was a glance from those lapis lazuli blue eyes and a smile from that perfect pink cupid’s bow and I was down for the count. The only problem? Her daddy has the power to make me disappear—forever. Am I crazy to consider it?

It’s been thirteen years, but I’m back in Humble, Louisiana, a worldly thirty-two year old with my own small construction business and a bionic foot, a reminder of my time in the military. One guess who shows up to apply for the job. Now she’s twenty-five and all grown up, and I’m hiding erections left and right because Keith, her brother and my best friend and business partner, would kill me if I even looked at her sideways.
The last time I saw James Hyde, he was nineteen and heading off to college and I was almost a teenager. I loved him with all of my heart. Before he left, I promised to wait for him. He said he wasn’t coming back.
Thirteen years later and guess who has returned with plans to start a business with my brother? James, looking even more handsome than I remembered. My feelings for him, if anything, have grown stronger. He’s still the only man I want. Can I persuade him to take a chance on us?
