These are very comfortable shoes and they fit true to size.
Bought these for my son to wear at school (uniform shoe) and he loves these, says they are very comfortable.
The wallabees were perfect and fit perfectly.

These shoes are the best. They are classic Authentic Clarks and look, feel, and smell of quality. MAKE SURE YOU ORDER A SIZE SMALLER than you wear. Im a size 10... so I ordered a size 9.5 and they fit perfect. Wallabees run big.

I've been a Clarks Wallabee wearer since I was 14 years old. I'm an old fellow now but I still wear them. A lot of people, especially the younger generating, will find the Wallabees to be the ugliest shoe ever made. But to those who grew up in the 80s, and are now hitting early 40s (well now you know my age)..the Wallabees is THE coolest pair of casual shoes ever. It's comfortable. It's simple. It goes well with jeans, khakis. If you have the Tan suede, it'll look even better when it's been aged by dirt and grime, it adds that "used" effect.

If you want to go classic, buy the tan suede low tops. I never liked the tan suede high tops for some reason. Black suedes come in high tops only I think. Brown suedes in high tops only too. But I could be wrong.

Now as far as where it's made. Long time ago, the Wallabees were made in UK by Irish shoemakers. Now, all Wallabees are made in China. You won't UK made Wallabees I would think. While I was living in the UK three years ago, I bought two pairs of Wallabees in London, and guess where they were made? China! So if the Brits think Wallabees made in CHina are good enough to be sold in London, then it's good enough for me. At the end of the day, the Wallabees is UK. I've owned two UK made Wallabees and it's no different with the ones made in China now, same materials, same stitching, same everything. The only thing you need to be aware of is the sizing. I had to take a whole size lower than my usual footsize. Make sure to fit them properly before you buy them. Clarks Outlet here in VA are very accomodating with returns and exchanges.

Just buy Wallabees and enjoy them.

I really like my Wallabees. The only thing I would warn people on is that they run big, so trying a pair on in the store before you order wouldn't be a bad idea.

Initially bought my husband the Clark's Stinson (which looks similar to this boot). He didnt wear them & we replaced with this boot. Here's why:

    1. THIS sole is the gum sole you are thinking of if you consider the original. MUCH better cushion and (as other reviews have said), it is solid. My husband is a major fan of Wallabees and this is the original you are thinking of.

2 We got the oil rubbed leather in both choices and the finish is similar in both. My husband says the fit, craftsmanship and overall quality of this boot is superior to the Stinson. I admit, they LOOK very similar - and my husband could just be ga-ga over the boot - but he says the original is better quality

    3. Sizing. My husband wears a 9.5 or 10 in shoes. Average width. Normally a 10 in athletic shoes. The 10 in the Stinson was HUGE on him. The 9.5 in this style fit perfectly.

Normally this boot is significantly more expensive than the Stinson, which likely affects purchasing. I will say - I prefer this boot. Look around, you can find good deals. I was able to get this original boot for LESS than we paid for the Stinson at a box store.

I had a pair of these back in the seventies and wore them out over the course of about 10 years. I remembered them being comfortable and OK to wear with both jeans and khakis. I thought I'd try another pair and bought these. First of all, they're a full size too big. I exchanged them for a full size smaller and they fit all right, but they're incredibly heavy and inflexible. When I tried walking in them they were so stiff that my heels kept coming out of them. I sent them back. I have no complaint about the quality -- the stitching looked even and the leather was high quality -- but I can't wear them. They'd probably still last for 10 years if I could keep them on. For the record, I have several pairs of Clark's shoes in other styles and all are comfortable. Maybe my feet got old.

I owned a pair of Wallabees 20 years ago which I wore almost daily for about five years and two resoles - loved them. The new "original" Wallabees are not exactly the same as my first pair, but they are still great shoes, comfortable and good looking (a matter of taste I suppose). The insole construction is not the same, probably not better or worse, but different. They are more comfortable and appear more durable than a recently purchased pair of Padmore Wallabees. A word about size: I wear a size 12C in most shoes and size 13N in New Balance/Dunham athletic shoes. The Wallabees are size 11.5M and fit perfectly - a tad wider than American B width. I suspect the Wallabees are sized by British standards. At Amazon prices, these shoes are well worth the money.

This Wallabee differs markedly from one I bought about two years ago. The soles seem wider (good), and are less thick in the center, so they may or may not provide good arch support (time will tell). The older pair were 10s and a bit stubby for me, so I moved up to 10 1/2, but there really doesn't seem to be much difference. In any case, I can't understand why some reviewers say these shoes are too big: I'd argue that they fit exactly, length-wise.. I share the complaint of other reviewers that Clarks does not offer wide versions; while these have more comfortable "give" than most US shoes, my toes would definitely prefer a bit more room to stretch out. The pricing is really weird, ranging all over the place. Anyone who pays the list $134 is crazy, since varying the color or going up or down a half size can save as much as $54 (yep, fifty-four bucks!). I paid a decent price for my sand suedes, saw that I could get a decent brown for $24 less, and immediately ordered a second pair. What can i say? Even if these shoes aren't great, they're good enough to buy and to wear if you get a bargain. And by the way, I looked at newer models, and found that "sand suede" is no longer available, apparently having been replaced by "white suede." Unfortunate, since some of us actually live in the desert.
