So...I was hooking up my laptop to my TV to stream YouTube, Hulu, or other TV shows available on the internet. But it was a little bit of a hassle to bring my laptop to the living room, hook up vga and audio cables, etc.

I had an old Droid X laying around trying to figure out what I could use it for. It hit me that I could use this hdmi cable to connect the Droid to my TV and use it to stream programming from the internet. When I got the cable, I was at first disappointed to learn that the Droid only outputs pictures and videos from the Gallery to the HDMI port. It does not output video that's being streamed from the internet, or any other signal for that matter. Luckily, I found an app on the Play Store called Xternal Display for Droid X that allows anything on the Droid screen to be outputted on the HDMI port.

When the app is running and I have already started the stream, I just plug the HDMI cable into the Droid. The Droid's screen will then freeze, so you have no control over functions such as pause or FF (that's why you need to have the stream already going before connecting). When the Droid is in landscape mode, I get a distorted picture, but if I rotate the Droid to portrait mode, everything comes up right on my Sony 42" TV.

I bought this cord for my Kindle Fire. When I received it, my mom wanted one, too, so I ordered a second under her account about a week after I ordered mine. Mine worked at first, then a couple of weeks later, it would flicker the signal on and off if I barely touched the Kindle. So every time I tapped "next video" on Netflix it would shut off until I wiggled the cord. Then a week later, it stopped sending the signal to the TV altogether. There was nothing wrong with the cord that I could see, it just stopped working.

So, I used the cord I purchased from them for my mother. Hers worked for about 2-3 months before doing the exact same thing. It's like the cords short out for some reason after use. I contacted them and they told me because it was past 30 days I was basically S.O.L.

So I have mixed feelings. It works for the Kindle Fire, but not for very long. At least in my case, purchasing two separate cords on two separate orders.

Anyone who tries to convince people that the high dollar HDMI cables are better does not know what they are talking about. There is no difference in a Monster cable for $100 and these high def cables for several dollars as far as performance. If you want to save money and have the same quality then but these. It's the same thing with speaker wire. The stores try to sell you expensive wire in oversized gauge and it does no better than lamp chord. Copper is copper, plain and simple. As long as it is true copper there is no difference. The gauge does matter to some extent, but 14 - 16 gauge should handle most in home installations for the short distances they travel.

works great for Kindle Fire HD cable

This cable works great with my Kindle Fire HD 7" output to all my TVs. The cable was well made and exactly matched the item displayed for sale.
I can access my Dish Network Hopper at home by their App (App not on Amazon) and watch all channels via the receiver's tuner or shows and movies that I have on my DVR. The Dish Remote Access App for the KFHD and the HD output to TV, really makes the KFHD a great deal for me for that alone. I also enjoy the Crackle App for KFHD on Amazon as well for same reason.
Of course without this cable to connect the KFHD micro port to a TV by a table makes it all possible to share and enjoy on the big TV screen.

Product is as described. An HDMI cable which works well for my cell phone. At first I wasn't interested in using my phone in this fashion. Not to mention the cost for the cable at retail stores is far higher than on amazon. I saw it at a good price on here and ordered it just to give it a try and it's a huge improvement. Main reason is for me to use netflix and put it on my big screen. I travel a lot and stay in hotel rooms so having this cable is now almost a necessity. simple cable that does so much. Highly recommended for those who travel a lot

I upgraded to the new Kindle Fire HD 7" for several reasons. I loved my first original Fire, but I liked some of the new features, one of which was the micro HDMI port on the HD. I've only used 1 of the cords so far, last night, and it worked perfectly. I was at my sisters' house & played something from the Fire on her flat screen without issue. The picture was great and my nephew was thrilled. I may order more of these so I can keep one at each TV & have one to bring with me if I need it elsewhere.
