We are in the process of going through similar priced and similar lumen headlamps from other manufacturers to get an idea of reliability and accurate lumen output. Hopefully a decision will be made by January 1st.
Emailed the company. Two weeks later, no response. Would I recommend spending money like this on an unresponsive Coast? See the star.
So I'm watching for another no name Chinese $15 with AA's that will last three years through a house build.
There's nothing wrong with it. It's actually decent. Except lights that use standard cells are a complete waste of money. Batteries don't last long, and aren't cheap. The entire industry should go to rechargeables, preferably replaceable cells with built in chargers(even those goofy, vaping idiots have figured this out). I'm willing to pay for a good light, they simply don't make one, that I'm aware of...</rant>
On a good note, its bright, has 3 decent brightness levels, focuses well and its rugged.
the modes and focusing aspects
the weight(pretty heavy with battery pack and huge lamp)
doesn't come with a rechargeable battery pack option
the clips are designed for hard-hats but don't work very well for baseball caps like I use for work
So I call support and they said I have to shop this back in, out of my pocket. Then wait until they either fix it or send a new one.............. This is a $70 light when all their competition is around $20. I guess it's my own fault for assuming this product was superior to the other cheap Chinese crap on the market.
