Uncomfortable, and Heels Already Breaking Down
on March 6, 2015
I wanted to like these boots so much! I bought these boots to be a lightweight, cheap boot for me to walk to work in (0.6 miles) on more formal work attire days, which is no more than once a week. I walk through grass for a very short part of my walk, but it means my shoes are often soaked, so I wanted something water resistant. Well, that is about the only positive thing I have to say for these boots other than they look pretty okay. They will keep your feet dry for the most part!
First, these made my right foot collapse inward each step because of where the heel is on the boot. I don't have any malformities, I'm 22 and in good shape, and I am pretty darn good at walking, but these cause my ankles to come drastically in beyond my foot when I put weight on, meaning by the time I get to work, my feet and ankles are already thrashed. I figured my feet were just swimming in the slippery material (despite them fitting my foot rather well in terms of size), so I started wearing thick socks, adding insoles, anything to try to make these work because I like how they look and had already committed to them. NOPE! No luck. Insoles are slowly pulled back and up the back of the ankle, and it doesn't even help to keep my foot in one place. I will be taking them to the donation center tonight where hopefully someone will have better luck with them.
To add injury to insult, if you will, when I got to work this morning, I took a look at the soles to make sure there wasn't something obvious causing this massive discomfort. The heels are already starting to split and separate a bit. This is after no more than 20 outings total in them ranging from just going to dinner to a day at work...
TL;DR: These shoes are actively hurting my feet and ankles. When I got to my building this morning after the short walk to work, I tore them off and walked to my office in just socks. I can confidently say that despite them looking good and fitting my feet well, they are quite painful and detrimental to my ankles and feet, and I'm a young'n.
