They work and they're comfortable. Foam is superior to any of the other types of tips for those reasons.

There are really only two drawbacks. The price and the durability are awful.

All brands fall apart. The core separates from the foam especially fast if you rest your ear on your hand or sleep on your side with earbuds in. I have yet to find a better brand, but you better believe I'd ditch Comply in a heartbeat if I did. The price is criminal considering you only get three sets and if you're a heavy user like myself where my ears are rarely unplugged you end up having to replace the tips every 2 to 3 weeks. I once managed to use a set for slightly over a month before they fell apart. Only ONCE.

If you're reading this Comply lower your price, change your quantities, or change the construction. I would imagine the foam is casted. If that's the case all it would take is a porous core where the foam can actually engulf and imbed the core entirely or use a heated piece in the place of the core so the resulting core is just the same material as the rest of the tip, but more rigid. You have to do something to improve it or price it differently. The pricing for these flimsy things unconscionable. I would ask how you sleep at night, but I know the answer is on a big pile of money.

UPDATE: On multiple, multiple occasions, I’ve had these eartips pop right off my WF-1000XM4 when I go to remove them from my ears, requiring tweezers to remove from my ear. That’s an issue, and someone could end up damaging their eardrum trying to remove one of these. I’ve also just had one rip from normal use. I hope they fix these issues, because these are otherwise great.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

TITLE: They really are as good as the reviews say. Boosted ANC and comfort, minimal difference in sound.

For context, I’m a big fan of Sony’s 1000X line, but I had to return my WF-1000XM3 because they caused my ears so much pain. I recently made the jump to the WF-1000XM4 in the hope that they’d be more comfortable. They are, but they still left my ears sore quite often, and wearing them for several hours on end could cause rather sharp pain. I thought about several different options for third party ear tips, but what really sealed the deal on these for my ears was the filter these add to prevent earwax from entering the nozzle and degrading the earbuds.

Now that I’ve used them for a few days, I can tell you that these actually improve the noise cancelling — in fact, there are some sounds, like my mini fridge, that I could still hear on the stock ear tips, but are completely silent with these.

I also noticed on the stock ear tips that in my left ear I sometimes heard a rustling noise, like an ear hair was rubbing against the headphones. It was getting on my nerves, and I thought there was no way to fix it. With these, the sound is gone.

Oh, and the earbuds don’t shift around in my ears on their own nearly as often anymore. That wasn’t a huge problem before, but now they’re secure enough that I think these ear tips are a good purchase for runners.

But most of all, what’s great about these is the comfort. I could only wear the WF-1000XM3 for an hour before the pain was too much to handle. On the WF-1000XM4’s, it was maybe 2-3 hours. But with these ear tips on the XM4’s, I can wear them for basically the whole day with no pain, and only mild discomfort if I don’t take a break for a few minutes after 4+ hours of continuous wear.

I was afraid I’d need to pinch these before inserting them, but I don’t, and it’s fine. I just kind of tilt the earbuds around as I reset them against my ear, and then push in as I go, and I get a really consistent fit that stays put in my smallish ears.

So yeah, I love these, but they’re not flawless. They’ve got one minor flaw in my eyes so far. They make the headphones sound very slightly different. It’s quite subtle. I can’t quite place my finger on it, but there’s something a little different. I think the volume might be ever so slightly less, and some details sound just a bit less crisp than before. However, some details sound a bit more crisp. I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve already gotten used to it, and I’m not looking back.

Adore The Quality! But I Can't Use My Wireless Buds After Headaches From Buying A Size Was Too Big

Absolutely day and night from any other set of replacement or even the original ear buds for my Sony wf-1000xm3's. I have 0 complaints about the actual product performance itself. Their product holds up well to their claims. Absolutely amazing.

However, the price is pretty exotic for memory foam.. I can buy 2 memory foam pillows for 20 bucks. You are making a killing gouging the buyer for foam in a cornered market, but that is your decision not mine. Also this specific set does not have a sample pack of each size like all the other buds do. So you'll have to guess your size and hope you didn't waste 20 dollars doing so. No clue what a small looks like but a medium is medium but keep this in mind. You will be crushing the foam between your fingers and jamming it into a much thinner area of your ear canal; where it then expands to mold to that specific areas shape.

I went with medium to just be safe, but frankly wish I could have gotten the small size first time around. As they are memory foam they do still snugly fit. Unfortunately, if the size is too big (as mine definitely are.. Can't imagine needing a large for any reason). You MAY begin to notice an acute headache after the first 30-45 minutes of use due to the sheer and constant pressure that in turn CAN cause (you may be an exception even though the ear is very sensitive) canal irritation. Which is exactly what a size too big is going to offer if you're like me. This is due to the foam persisting to try and expand back into its original mold. As it tries to expand the resistance of your ear canal preventing this causes a constant pressure buildup until removed. (Very obvious I know but some may not understand my original wording so I just wanted to clarify)

The headaches have started to become an immediate onset now as soon as I put them in at any depth. I hope it's temporary and only because I didn't (until now) allow my inner ear to fully heal or let the irritation completely subside after daily usage of 4-8 hours regularly.? I do want to add that I get no headaches at all after I use a bose wired full ear muff headset for any amount of time though... So, currently I have stopped using the wireless ear buds all together here recently because the overwhelming pressure began to add symptoms of vertigo and motion sickness that accompanied the headache shortly thereafter. This may all be due to my ears being uberly more sensitive than others. However, I just wanted to be sure to let you all know that at least in my case, SIZING REALLY DID MATTER when I purchased this item.
Hope this helps and I do still recommend the ear buds. Just of the correct sizing for extended use.

Initially I was concerned about the fact that they are actually bigger than the default Sony size S buds, but as they are more malliable that did not matter.

Positives:
They are comfortable. They do not tear up the canals of your ears like the sandpaper-esque original Sony buds do.

Negatives:
Unfortunatly the build quality is terrible.
After about a week the little felt covering the driver of the left tip started to come loose.
After little more than a month the right foam tip now fully detached

You get three pairs, but a pair lasting about a month is just not acceptable.

Nice fit, noise cancelling significantly worse

The stock medium tips are a tad too small, but the stock large tips are a bit too big. They start hurting after a while, which is why I looked for a replacement. Comply's tips are very comfortable. I can wear them for hours without hurting my ear canals. But noise cancelling is significantly worse. Using Sony's stock L tips it would almost 100% cancel out car noise when driving 50-80km/h max, as well as reduce noise in my workplace's cafetaria to about 30%. But Comply's M tips only about halve the noise in a car and not do much about voices at all. Perhaps Comply's L tips would fix this, but I'm scared of getting those as I see Comply recommending to lower a size in most of the reviews talking about worse noise cancelling.
