The mounting size is 22.5mm.. That's about 7/8 of an inch.. This will definitely put a hole in whatever you're mounting it in..
The rear part of the camera assembly must have threadsealer on it because no amount of persuasion would unscrew it.. This is an essential part of installing a camera like this into a tight space (in my case, the hatchback of a 2008 Honda Element right where the windshield nozzle is..) and Coolint has totally made that impossible to remove without damaging the car or the front camera threads for the bezel.. I tried finger pressure, I tried pliers and channel locks, and I even tried heat.. After mangling the ribbed edges of the piece that should unscrew (I mean, ya made it ribbed, even!) as well as one of the mounting prongs, I decided it would have to go in from the front and never come out.. Surprise: my mounting hole was juuust large enough to push it through at an angle.. I had to do that three times during the install.. It mangled the threads, but I'm still barely able to screw things together.. Please, Coolint, DON'T use a thread locker on there!! This review would be 4 or 5 stars for sure if you fixed that step.. No rear view camera like this should lack the ability to unscrew the mounting prongs..
The downward angle the camera can achieve isn't as flexible as the eSky.. WIth the eSky (and similar products I've bought in the past), the camera can be mounted in a vertical surface and angled so as to see the rear bumper.. That was my goal with this camera.. Unfortunately, this camera doesn't have that level of flexibility and the downward angle you can achieve isn't nearly as useful. As a temporary measure, I made an angled housing for the camera out of ABS.. I've got a Jeep aluminum housing on the way to see if I can somehow rig the camera to get the view I want out of it.. This is at least twice for me having the push the camera through to remount it, so ... Coolint? Make that back piece unscrewable please.. It would have avoided some real headaches..
It would be great if the outer bezel had indents in it so a tool could be used to screw it on.. (maybe the other end of the tool used to aim the camera).. Screwing on the bezel can be difficult when the camera body is mounted.. Again, this wouldn't be a problem if the rear of the camera unscrewed as it should.. if I could unscrew that part, the 4 prongs that lock the camera in place could be popped out of place and the camera bezel could be screwed nice and tight and mounted.. But, since that wasn't possible, I didn't want to lock the camera into place until I had all my angles properly set.. In the end, that's why this pretty good camera gets a 3-star..
If Coolint is listening, I'd gladly upgrade my review if you were to send a camera housing (don't need the camera, just the aluminum housing, mounting prongs, rear screw-in piece and front bezel) that didn't feature a threadlocked rear piece.. :)
Regarding the actual picture? It's decent, but not amazing. There's a decent amount of grain to it.. I'm an experienced electronics person (7 years working in electronics as a soldermonkey and circuit board inspector.. I know my way around..) and my wires were run properly in looms and wired up in a way to limit resistance.. The lines would be helpful, but the flashing 'stop' is a bit much.. That's going to make me cut the wire that removes the guidelines.. :|
Angle wise, it's 'good enough'.. I wish it gave me a bit closer to 170 degrees, but.. it does the job..
Am I satisfied? No. Am I dissatisfied? No. It's ... ok. If there were better camera alternatives, I would replace it.. ANd, that's a shame because this has some otherwise promising features..

The installation flexibility is nice, allowing for mounting to many tricky surfaces while remaining low profile. It does have to be relatively flat and there are no rubber washers to sort of fudge gaps. The side camera usage, the application I am most interested in, is limited however. I wanted to use these as side blind spot cameras mounted on the mirror. The problem with my setup is that the mirror housing doesn't give enough of an upward angle so the camera can get a full view down the side... it mostly points at the ground and but ends at the rear bumper. Perfect for parking and preventing curb rash I guess, but not super useful while driving. I'll be trying to find an alternate mounting location.
The cable is the nice and slim style that is long enough to get you into the vehicle without having a full RCA size plug. This is great if you aren't too keen on drilling massive holes, but the 22mm mounting size will do a bit of damage.
Over all I am hot and cold on this device. Great build, nice form factor, decent quality. Requires massive mounting hole, but has nice slim wires. Angling is nice, but you cannot get too extreme of an angle to fit all use cases.
Time will tell if holds up. Check out coolint website, they have many camera products, appear to be a quality company that cares about their products
Previous expensive camera i had lasted 2 yrs.
Easy install. Tightly holds.
I didnt use drill bit, i reamed a previous smaller hole by hand. using a drill bit in a hand drill can result in a bigger hole than the size of the drill bit, and possibly a poor loose fit.
Great night vision, grainy of course, but bright. Much better than my previous camera, that i thought was pretty good.
Picture....less quality than id like...but ok for price.
Angle....seems less than 170 to me, i dont see ends of my bumpers from tailgate handle. Maybe more like 150 in reality.
Adjustment...just friction. But no issues yet.

There was just enough Video cable to make it to the back of the Pioneer.
It goes to backup camera in reverse or if I select Camera on the Pioneer to watch rear - pulling trailer or boat, etc.
